I can say so many good things about the UD7 an ace Mobo if your ok with the cash! Looks like a pretty good build you will not need 1000W for that setup but then you can tell me the same thing about my 1500W! Also read alot of good stuff about the H50 and those fans. I have 2 of those fans on order at the moment from Overclockers myself.

on thing I would defintaley say is to go with the Asus P6X58d premium. It has mostly all of the same features as the ud7 for significantly cheaper. I have also read better reviews on it, as I too was looking into an X58 board not to long ago.

Also, from your parts it looks as though price isn't the biggest issue for you, but please correct me if I am wrong. If that is the case, I would suggest going with a SATA III HDD< seeing as though whether you go with the ud7, or the P6x58d, you've got the compatibility. As well, it might not seem like you need the space now, but I would say go for a bigger HDD, or a two bigger HDD's. I'm filling up my 1tb a lot faster than I expected.

1000W is more than you need with that setup. The Corsair HX-850w will support that setup as well as an extra vid card or two if you ever dicide to go down that path. The 850w is also newer than the 1000w, and I have read that it has better efficiency, even though I believe they both have the same 80+ rating.

Can't seem to find that board here in England, but what of this board instead?

It's £50-60 cheaper than the UD7, but the differences appear to be that the Asus P6TD Deluxe Intel X58 lacks USB 3.0 and Sata 3.0 support. Worth the difference?

Don't go with that one. Right now, the usb 3.0 and sata III might not seem like mutch, as there are few compatible products on the market, but if you just look at whats been happening at CES 2010, I think it will come mainstream more quickly than people thought, so its always nice not to have to take up space with an addon card, when you just have it integrated.

Also, I'm not sure about this, but Cooler Master has been making revisions of some of their popular chassis atm, so I would expect they will be coming out with a HAF 932 II as well. Right now they have made a "II" version for the cm 690, and one other, but I forget the name

Anyways, its something to consider

Asus P6X58d premium also good but not as many connection options as the UD7.

P6DT also good but i dont think it has SATA 3 and USB 3 also if you ever had 3x Dual slot Graphics cards in SLi or Tri Fire you will not get one in the last PCI 2.0 slot.

I would disagree on the better GPU part. the 5850 is great because it is cheaper than the 5870, yet still offers unbelievable performance. It can probably be OC'd to come close to the 5870 as well.

Save the money from the smaller PSU, and go for a bigger and SATA III compatible HDD

yes you're current PSU will do the trick and more.

Thank you for the responses, I think I'm still going to stick with that UD7, because by the time I do build this later this year, the price will be comparable to the Asus P6TD/P6T I would imagine.

I will re-use my current power supply also.

+rep to all that helped me.

Quick question: Why i7?

i7 is pretty useless if you're only going to be gaming, especially if you're only going to use a single or two GPUs. An i5 or AM3 setup would be scores cheaper, yet retain the same performance in games.

Also, I'd get get a different case (I think the HAF is ugly), something like the CoolerMaster CM690 and a new sound card would be my choice instead.

no problem sir.

Is it not the greatest feeling when you realize you just saved $180?

And make sure you look int that sata III, here is a link. I believe Western Digital announced they will soon be coming out with one as well.

i7 may be over the took but these boards are much more future proof as they are already set up for the new line of Intel CPU's on the way...

...i7 is overkill as it is, never mind the Gulftowns and 32nm Nehalems.

AM3 is far from a dead socket, likewise with 1156.

OP: It's good that you're sticking with your current power supply. If you didn't go i7, and got an AM3 or i5 set up, you could probably CrossFire 5850s with the saving, or get close to.

Also, the fan controller really isn't needed unless you're using very big, loud fans, like the Ultra Kaze for example, but the HAF's stock (as are all of CoolerMaster's fans in cases) quiet, so it's surplus to requirements pretty much.

I doubt it. Not more useful than a 2nd HD5850 would, that's for sure.

The chance is little but the possibility is there. Although it's not exactly clear if the thread creator does other things beside gaming?
