Yeah well I built my first watercooling loop a while back and I switched my pc on and I heard funny noises.

I switched the pc off and removed the side panel and there was water all over the bottom of my case, and on my carpet as there is a hole in the bottom of the haf 932 case.

I wondered where the hell the leak came from and on closer inspection I saw that the top of my xspc res had actually came unsealed, the whoile top could actually come off

I am seriously annoyed, but strangely I still want to stick with watercooling.

I've been using my friend google

and apaprently acrylic res often crack, seals come apart etc.

Should I go for a t line? Do the danger den fill ports fit the haf 932 fillport?

Anyone had a similar thing happen, and have now gone for a res?

I don't think the rad has a leak too as my gpu etc was dry (res was at the bottom of the case)

Make sure to check everything like the CPU hdd and such for any signs of water.

I'll have to remove cpu block then.

I did feel around the rad, cpu block etc and could not feel any wetness, and there were no leaks/water on gpu, it was all at the bottom of my case.

The top of the res shouldn't be able to come off the way it has though.

I hope your hardware is all right.

Just make sure to let it all dry out and cross your fingers / pray.
Thanks man.

As far as I know the leak was only from the res, and the res was at the bottom of my case, so there was none on my components.

I did check whether there was a leak from rad, cpu block etc but I cldn't see anything.

And I didn't want to run everything to see if there were anymore leaks.

The res was nearly empty when I removed side panel though

Yeah well I've been reading and it seems as though a negative of a res is it cracking under pressure, leaking etc.

Obviously anything can leak rad, cpu block, or general leaks if tubing isn't on right.

But as far as I know with those components they either leak or don't.

I will be going for a t line this time unless anyone tells me any different.

Apparently acrylic res are no good, but as far as I can see all the res out their are acrylic

I do not believe my DDen fillport fit my HAF. The diameter of the hole on the HAF was too small however a little drilling to widen it would be simple enough. Good luck and don't give up on swimming!

Edit: Oh a T line is what I prefer however the pump/res top is rather badass and I would be inclined to use that than just a T line. Perhaps you could add a T for draining your loop easily.

Edit: Apparently a DDen fill-port will fit by removing the top plastic portion of the case and installing it directly to the metal frame, then reattaching the top plastic portion.

I did read that the danger den fillport doesn't fit the hole.

What are my options then?

Could I not just run the tubing through the fill port hole and just attach the fillport?

What I mean is rather than having it flush just have the tubing sticking out of the hole? I don't care if it looks nice
Image

I take it normally the fillport should sit flush on the hole itself, but where the dd fillport is too big it can't?

The reason for not wanting a res is incase it cracks etc or the top comes off.

Sounds like your ready to go for the T-Line. Your idea will work great.

Yeah that pos xspc has put me off usign a res now.

I'm a bit noobish with watercooling though, is the fillport normally meant to sit flush on the fillport hole?

Yea it screws down. Check out the threads in the picture.

Edit: Oh and if you don't have a fill port yet just use a AA battery to plug it

Thanks TheCh3F.

Positive rep given

Ah ok so it looks nice and neat when flush, but I'll just run the tubing out the hole.

I can't use a tline now as I have no t fittings and I can't use my pump.

I'm gonna use this leak as a chance to upgrade.

I'm gonna get an mcp655 and maybe even a triple rad.

Also gonna change my tubing for coloured.

Finding another top will not be difficult. I had the non-res xspc top on a modded 350 before I went back to a 655.

Thanks for the reply.

I'm gonna go for the 655, I take it that's one of the better pumps out there?

I'll then put my pump for sale on here once I get my 655.

Yes the 655 is great. Just be sure to get the vario or VDC version of the pump and not the "B" version without the speed controller.

wow, i've never seen that happen to one of those XSPC res tops ever since they came out.

did you clean it with alcohol or anything like that?

if you didn't, then i would contact XSPC and see if they will offer you a new top free of charge.
