which of these two brands has better support and quality build, it seems they are owned by the same company but IDK any help here?

I have always went with eVGA but it seems XFX has superior packaging

XFX's quality really seems to be having issues currently, so I would stay away from them for now. I've had EVGA cards in the past and been very impressed with them, the one time I had to contact EVGA's tech support it was about a bad molex-6pin plug, and they sent me a new one for free immediately

Personally I hate XFX now with their new Non reference cards. I've owned many EVGA products in the past and I never had a problem with any of them.

It is extremely easy to reach a live operator on the phone instead of submitting tickets.

Yes eVGA let my return my 8800 GTX because it broke with less the a weeks worth of use and exchange for a GTX 260 and that was a free upgrade and let my stepUP to the GTX 285

I have had the best tech support from my evga cards. They have all been nice, knowledgeable, fast, and honest. I probably have to call them again tonight about my GTS-250 at home. I'll come back to this thread after that.

XFX and EVGA are definitely not the same company. EVGA is a private corporation owned by Andrew Han. XFX is a subsidiary of Pine Technology Holdings Limited.

If XFX, are you going for their NVIDIA cards or their ATI cards? Because there's a huge difference in quality and support for each of them. XFX clearly favors NVIDIA better (as they always have since they were NVIDIA exclusive until recently).

I have had 4 xfx motherboards die on me. I will never buy xfx again.

XFX mobos suck.... really.

Check the reviews/comments on their X58 or 750a mobos.

Like most have said, go eVGA. It doesn't take too long on OCN to see knowledgeable people like DuckieHo, and if that is the type of person that works at eVGA, you should pretty much just /thread and buy an eVGA card. I love mine.

Agreed. I can personally vouch my friend had both an EVGA and XFX 790i motherboard, and you could tell the XFX one was made so cheap it's almost like parts were about to fall off.

Well I've always used XFX personally. My (I know its old) 9800GTX+ is rock solid. Have some issues with their site since it's asking me to verify my card again even though I've been register with them since my 7900GS AGP card...

EVGA spent the money and bought the entire EPoX motherboard engineering team when they went under. EVGA also spent money getting top overclockers in assisting with mobo designs and testing.

XFX did not.
