Hi all, I recently built a new system on a strix X670e mobo, 7700X cpu and strix rtx 4090 OC gpu.

I have two monitors, one that I run off the 4090 and use to run my games on and the second screen that I run on the igpu to run telemetry and other small apps whilst gaming.

I have been having a problem where my pc locks up and crashes randomly when in game. When I reboot the pc the monitor that displays the apps with the igpu is blank and when I go into device manager it says the radeon driver has been disabled, when i re-enable it I get error code 31 straight away.

In the end I have to uninstall the radeon driver and reboot my pc for it to automatically instal again.

I am only using some basic amd driver that i assume windows installs for the igpu and not adrenaline as it does not play well with nvidia drivers.

Any idea on what could be causing this and how to fix it?

Cheers

Adrenaline works just fine along side Nvidia, especially since you NEED IT for the chipset and I/O drivers for AMD.

without adrenaline, you are skipping required drivers to support your darn computer.

If you really need a slim version of adrenaline, just install it, backup your drivers after it installs, use DDU to clean everything up, then restore your drivers without having to get the Adrenaline software running.

Using the IGP to run a secondary monitor will probably cause more of a performance hit than just using the 4090.

I did instal adrenaline when I first got the second monitor and all that happened was that for some weird reason it got rid of my nvidia drivers and caused all sorts of grief. Maybe I will try once more and see if it is any different this time. I usually just check the amd site occasionally for new chipset drivers.

I did not realise tnhat adrenaline did more than install gpu drivers and gfx settings.
