Is it possible to buy a 802.11ac mSATA module? Preferably 1.3 GHz (3x3) but 867 (2x2) would be OK.

It's because my HTPC got a Z77 mITX motherboard with a 802.11n module in the mSATA port and i would like to get the last machine on my ac network

The difference in terms of speed is pretty big! But if i need to replace the whole motherboard and cpu (because of socket difference 1155 vs 1150) it would be too expensive i think..

I can't use the PCI-E port. Because i need to buy a passive/small GPU that supports HDMI 2.0 at a later point when i go 4K.. And i would prefer not going with a USB dongle solution!

You mean mpcie? You can't use mpcie card on msata slot.

your mobo have msata slot, not mpcie, you can't put wifi cards in there, only msata ssds

you see how he said z77 mitx mobo in his htpc, the board in hes profile is an ATX and not mITX
