For some reason, when I open an image in PS CS5, the image pretty much doesn't appear. It shows what the image looks like in the layers section, the filters and everything, but it just won't appear on the main screen where I need it most. Umm... Any idea why? Also, when I close Photoshop, then I get a popup saying that Photoshop is not working. It does that with Illustrator too once in a while when I open it, then I just close and open again.

Any suggestions? Thanks.

Reinstall the program. Open a picture and see if it works. If not, try opening a jpeg and a bitmap and a PNG just to see if it's having issues with certain formats.
Also run CS5 in 64 bit if your running in 32 bit. If the issue is in 64 bit, try 32 bit mode.

I hope i have helped answer your question and i am sorry if i've misunderstood. Good Luck!

I guess I could try that, I knew I should have installed both 64 and 32 bit versions! Haha. I tried opening PNG, Jpeg, and CR3 image, none work.

Did it work? If not, reinstall to get both 32 and 64 bit versions to test on. Good Luck.
