Annoying Cursor Problem with MadCatz RAT MMO7

I know, that was a mistake to buy MadCatz product, but i did that mistake so have to live with it...

Now, before buying it, i read some reviews about RAT 9 mouse, and people complained with mouse movement (cursor actually) even if you're not moving it. I thought they probably fixed it in MMO7 but, they didnt.

It's hard to snipe or shoot people in FPS games and in driving simulation when cursor is ****ting around in the screen, you cant point people or drive properly..

In desktop it's problem too because i cant open folders with double click because it's moving left-right, without moving it.

Long story short, is there a way to get rid of that problem, a patch or update maybe ? Do you have any idea that they solved it ?

I'm repeating the problem; the cursor is moving even if you're not moving the mouse, that's the issue.

Any help is appreciated, if not suggest me a mouse for FPS gaming if you know (I prefer 3-4 buttons in left side so i can assign them as prone, hold breath, or switch zoom levels)

Best Regards.

The problem is common with the actual laser and what mouse pad you have. What mouse pad are you using? If you move to a less porous or hard mat, the problem should go away. Try just using it on your desk or magazine if you can and see if the problem still occurs (assuming you are using a regular wood surface desk).

any sort of vibration on your desk will cause the cursor to move. i have my speaker set on my desk and the cursor will go crazy every time i watch a movie or play a game with booming sounds. so far only my rat 9 does that.

I wanted to try the RAT, but I heard bad reviews before it even hit the market. I even emailed the manufacturer about the laser they used! They emailed me back saying that was the best option for them.

I have heard about this problem many times with all products using this laser. For some reason Logitech lasers don't have the same issue or at least the two I own don't.

Same here, I had 2 Logitechs, both Performance mice, never had any issue. I thought they fixed it in new RAT, however they didnt...

Buttons were first reason i bought, action lock, 10 buttons on one side, it was good for FPS or RPG games.. It causes more trouble than it's worth that's for sure.

Ditto, I don't regret my RAT 9 purchase. Great mouse, except for the occasional wonkiness. Again, a quick blow and it works fin again.

These mice suck and so does the crappy company. I bought my RAT5 almost 2 years ago from newegg, then I read the reviews on egg and many people have this issue. I tossed the mouse in the closet for almost 2 years, I didn't even wanna RMA it because chances are, they probably didn't have a fix. So now almost when warranty expires, about 1 year and 11 months I RMA this.
New mouse arrives, rattles, hmm scroll wheel is very loose and looks like its about to break. Time to test it... couple of minutes later, same problem. I turn sound up and cursor moves. I tap on desk with fingers and it moves all over the screen. I try to contact madcats again about this, but its been 2 emails and 1 attempt at their live support and no returns from them. What a company.
BTW I have 5 other mice in my home, so no they can't tell me maybe its this and that. Also tried it on 3 separate machines. This mouse is junk. Every other mouse I'm able to use on my carpet, with madcats I can't use it on carpet at all. I know its not designed to be used on carpets, but look at razor and Logitech mice I have, they are performing 95% accuracy on carpet and madcats get 5%.
I'm about to file complaint with BBB.org and have madcats refund me shipping on the last RMA I sent and have them buy their junk back. I want my money back. This is ridiculous.

Rat mice use a high sensitivity optical sensor if you want the problem to go away use lower dpi or get a proper gaming surface. That said it can be temprementle and unless you want a top class wireless mouse, the rat 9. corsair m60/65 is a better option.
