This had happened in the past but on a smaller scale but today this popped up on my desktop..

I checked my ram and it's fine.. i have no idea what is the cause of this. Monitor or DVI cable? Any ideas what is the next step i should do? Suggestions?

My drivers are new and recently installed. I have no issues with gaming. The only odd thing is this weird looking stuff went away as soon i restarted my PC. What gives?

The monitor just displays...what renders it is the GPU. The problem is your GPU.

What are your temps on the GPU running HWMonitor and then game for 20-30mins?

Take a screenshot when it is artifacting like that and then paste it into a word doc - do they persist in the pic (if yes then it is the GPU - if not then it is the DVI cable or monitor).

If it is the GPU then you will want to pull it out, clean all of the copper contact surfaces with Metho and cotton buds (Q-Tip), dry with a cotton bud and then reseat it - are the artifacts still there?

If you are getting very high GPU temps during low to mid load you will want to pull the card apart and refresh the TIM on the GPU.

Depending on the cable you are using it can also be a loose cable between the two, or if it is damaged in some way. VGA in particular can display stuff like that if only certain pins are disconnected.

I'll try that but i have checked temps after i restarted and it looks very normal so does the video card temps. I really think it could be driver issue or in that case maybe i need to get a new DVI cable. I'll have to take it apart and reseat my card in case anyways. This card isn't even old and i would never take it apart cuz i rather have warranty. There is nothing wrong and it's not overclocked. It's a superclocked version. I doubt it's my temps at all. It's something else obviously. I just recently reinstalled a new driver for my video card and we'll see how that goes. If it ever happens again in the later future then i know i probably need to get a new cable. But i guess it doesn't hurt to get a new one anyways.

Whenever updating the drivers, DL them and save somewhere then use DDU to ensure the old driver is removed properly and then install the later driver.

That's what i do. I know how to do that.

Did you try to take a screenshot when it is artifacting like that and then paste it into a word doc (or email, paint, etc.) and note if the artefacts are in the picture? If so it is RMA time for your card.

I took a picture of that with my cellphone not the PC. I think it was driver issue. It hasn't happened again. If it does in the later future more likely i need to change my DVI. I doubt my video card is bad. It's still new.
