Asus Z77 Sabertooth - Stuck at Splash Screen

I had to go and run a hard drive in a different machine for a week or so, but that's the only change that's happened since when it booted properly.

Now, no matter what I do, when I boot it up, it will go to the Motherboard splash screen, and never go past that step.

If I go into BIOS, it shows all of the hard drives there, but will not boot from any of them. If I choose a boot override from there, it just goes into a black screen and again hangs there. This is regardless of media type, won't boot a CD or Flash Drive either. This won't even let me get into a flash drive to attempt to update the BIOS even (just goes to blank screen when I select EZ Flash

There are no beeps made, though the boot device post light (red) does come on for a split second before the splash screen appears.

I don't know what else to do in order to fix this. I've moved around the HDs through the SATA slots to no avail, ensured everything is set properly , yet nothing fixes this error.

Have you tried to clear the cmos or change bios settings. Also your mainboard may log boot errors you can read if you unhook the hard drive and boot to the bios. The other thing to consider is that your bios is protecting you. Sometimes if we hook a hard drive up to another computer and it has an issue such as a root kit the problem can transfer to the hard drive.

I've tried all of that except searching for boot error logs. I cant find them anywhere in my settings.

I've disconnected all sata devices even, and attempted to boot solely from a flash drive, both a Live CD and a BIOS update, same issue occurs with either.

Do you have an external hard drive or flash drive connected to the machine? I have had that make my computer stay stuck at the splash screen.

It has happened to me.When the boot LED is RED & just doesn't change. What the Asus rep told me is to do is use the Jumper to Reset the CMOS. He also ask me to make sure to disconnect & reconnect everything. CPU, Memory, Ect..If it doesn't work. You have to send it in for an RMA. But you will pay for shipping.

I was having a similar problem with my old "server". Description was similar to your problem. Mine turned out to be defective memory module.

Gone through all of these answers. I'll guess I'll call them up for an RMA. Nothing is attached except monitor, keyboard, mouse, and USB drive( when attempting to update BIOS only). Memory passed, I've gone through all 4 single sticks, as well as the board's memory OK button.
