They should Title II the lot of 'em.

 

For some reason, Comcast boosted my area as well in suburban Atlanta. I was paying for 50/10, yet got boosted speeds to 100/23 consistently. But I had to switch due to Comcast slapping down the 250gb cap yet again.
Comcast Business FTW.

 

Isn't google fiber A) ridiculously faster and B) helluva lot cheaper?

Given the experiences I've had with Comcast I can't imagine any customer not being prepped to tell them to either give them a happy ending or take a home.

Just don't stream, download, play online games... Basically don't use it at all or they will probably throttle you.... Speedtest.net will work great tho!

 

And here I am stuck where they changed the crappy standard 20/1 speed to "turbo" and I now have the standard which is 15/1.

 

So if I lived in Kansas City I could get Google Fiber at 1 Gbps or Comcast at up to 150 Mbps. Hmmmmm, not much of a decision there....

 

That's cool and all, but if someone has access to Google Fiber (1gbps) at $70/month, why in the hell would they pay close to the same for 105mbps? I'd pay Google $120/month for 1gbps + cable service if it took that to get them down here. I pay much more than that for just 24mbps with AT&T.

 

Speed boost, big deal. Boost the bandwidth, or better yet eliminate the Bandwidth all together and THEN I'll consider! but I know that won't happen.

 

How expensive???

I'll be on 3G / 4G forever with those prices.

 

The speed boost is live in most places now. I would still prefer paying for a much slower speed that has no cap. Something like 25Mbps is fast enough for me. Doubling the speed and leaving the cap the same is..... Comcastic.

Looks like Comcast is hitting the DOCSIS wall, or at least will be soon

 

I just left Atlanta where Concast was the only provider in my neighborhood...Now I am in Orlando with Brighthouse, the service is more expensive for the same speeds, but no cap YAY!!

It's in areas where there is competition, Google Fiber will come to my city last believe you me, but AT&T is here so Comcast quietly upgraded everyone's bandwidth. It's funny though because AT&T operates here as if there is no competition, so in my case it's the much lesser of two evils.

No Google or Comcast here, no data caps either... but speed/price ratio is still high. 10/1 for $45/month is standard here in Cincinnati from both Cincinnati Bell and TWC. I choose Cinci Bell over TWC... because NO TWC!

Our mayor was trying to lobby Google to come here, here's hoping they do in the next few years

Comcast did announce recently that they're rolling out fiber in South Florida, but offering a maximum 505mbps connection. What gives? What a load of crap. It really goes to show how ISPs blatantly stifle advancements.

Seems counter-intuitive that the 1% can be considered to be such a burden on the largests ISPs in the country to where they need to cap and fine them at an arbitrary level... just 'cause

 

In 2013 Comcast boosted the blast package which at that time was 25mbit to 50mbit and now they are going to double it again. Blast is rolling out to the country at 105mbit starting with Google fiber locations.

 

I only have 6 meg down, but no caps. Though I've not even reached 100 Gb in a month on that yet, but average around 60-80 Gb.

I'm pretty sure I'm on the blast package as I get 30 down/6 up. I need to call and have CONcast refund me for a month's worth of internet due to service difficulties, will ask then.

This is my usage for the last 4 months. 163GB and we're only 5 days into August. I'd be screwed if the TWC an Comcast merger goes through and Comcast imposes the limits on me.

That's with me taking 2 week business trips ever 3-4 weeks too.
