Hello, I recently got windows 7 (home premium 32bit), and needed to install GFWL, but can't, it always fails, I tried using lots of different installers incl. the one on microsofts website, the one in the redist folder of dirt 3, and the one in F1 2011's folder. I got an error message:

I uninstalled install sheild wizard, re installed that, I reinstalled java, still nothing, I then installed Service pack one, still, same error, I then tried to install Windows live ID sign-in assistant seperately, still, same problem, It would be greatly apreciated if someone could PLEASE HELP, it pains my face that this is not working.

I had the same exact issue myself when I was trying to install GFWL to play Dirt 3. For me it turned out to be a corruption in windows itself. More specifically my user account. I went ahead and created a new user acount, and gave it another shot.... everything installed perfectly. Give that a try and see what happens.

Ok, thanks for the advice. Could I use the windows disc to repair it?

control panel>user accounts>create new account(or someting similar, I dont remember the exact wording) and make sure you set it as administrator.

create a new account and try the install. If its the same issue hopefully someone else will be able to chime in. But if it works out then your chocies are re-install windows, or move everything over to the other account.

Go to GFWL to log in your account (not Windows account) then later open Steam and download from there.

I can't get into GFWL, because it won't install, and how do you get it through steam?
