Disable buttons DPI? (No Software) - Logitech g400s

Hello,

I have a Logitech Mouse G400s, and really often happened to me in-game intentionally pressing the button to change DPI.

From what I read in forums, the only way to disable them is with Logitech software.

I want to know if there is no other way, since it is known that it is better not to use drivers, for example, the software has more button-delay, etc.

Sorry for bad english guys!

Thank you very much !!

He's probably referring to this test which shows +10ms delay when using the G400 with the software.

The G400s and the G400 are both very similar mice without onboard memory so there's a chance that the G400s would test the same.

it would be a problem if anyone actually noticed it, but there are no reports on costumers reviews about that

Considering that the majority of human beings can't really react to visual input faster than 200-250ms, 10ms seems insignificant in the grand scheme.

kinda hard to trust that video tbh and regardless motion lag is often independent of button lag.

10ms is actually quite a significant amount... 20ms is easily noticeable by most fps gamers and half of that is by no means insignificant.
also i'd bet that the majority of people here can react faster than 200ms on humanbenchmark if they run it with aero off with windows 7

I like it better than my old G500.

Though Considering the Location of the DPI buttons they look had to press by accident. But I never used one, so I guess I am wrong judging by this post.

They should have put them in the same spot the G500-502 has them. Pretty much impossible to hit them on accident.

My first thought is to open it and disconnect or otherwise disable the buttons, but this mouse looks to use buttons that may need to be removed to disable them. If you can follow the wires, you may be able to disconnect one from the buttons if it is similar to the MX518.

I guess trying the software is the best option.

Impossible, g400 series does not feature on board memory, you either have to live with LGS or make sure you don't click dpi button by accident

Will you ever use those buttons?

A drop of 2 of super glue from the inside could make them never get hit again(I would glue the switch itself instead of the top to avoid a spot you can see).

it's definitely not a lie that (at least in the past) having certain mouse-software running would change cursor behavior or/and add lag.

and claiming that 10ms is insignificant is pretty silly. especially with mouse-input, you will notice 10ms (unless you already have high latency).
besides, if it was 3ms and you'd think "3ms is insignificant". let's say you have 10 things that add 3ms, well, there you go: 30ms. still insignificant?

@marcelon1
you could open the mouse up and disconect/remove/destroy the buttons. it will require you to remove the mouse feet, however.
