hey

been searching a bit but have yet to get a definite answer, could you mount the EK Supreme HF on the sandy brindge 1155 socket and still have enough surface area to cool sufficient?

i am aware that there should be a new updated mounting kit out there but i would like to reuse the old

EK Supreme HF fits and cools fine on my 1155 M4E. EK put out a new mounting system that is easier to install but that's about it, other then it is suppose to allow for the ideal pressure mount, still mounts the same.

The 1155 is the exact same mounting as 1156, so no issue at all with the LGA1155 socket.

Edit: To clarify on the old mounting kit, I have it and am using it. Works fine for SB.

I do believe they have released the 1155 adapters with their newest revision.
So you need an adapter to mount 1155 even though it is mounted the exact same as 1156. Hhhmmm, new to me.

Just installed the EK-KIT H3O Supreme HF 360 on my Sandy Bridge system earlier tonight. Even with the old mounting kit, it mounted fine. The new "Easy Mount" mounting kit that you can buy separately just makes it easier to be sure you have it screwed down tight enough.
