I bought my PC 4 years ago, had to sell things to buy it so can't replace my GPU, it's not crashing or anything but it's running hot.

I'm running a 21.9 monitor (38 inch) plus a vertical one, gaming and streaming on the same PC. But the temps have got to 85-90 degrees over the past few days and not sure what to do to even fix it.

GPU is: Gigabyte NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti VISION OC

I've seen some on Reddit and other places that it runs hot by usual standards. I don't know if it's just because in my cabin the temps are 22 degrees when I get it cooled down. Someone said about changing the thermal paste but I don’t know how to do that.

Appreciate any advice, thanks :)

The person who told you to change the thermal paste gave you good advice.

Go onto youtube and look for some videos on how to do a thermal paste replacement on a video card. You may even find a tutorial specifically for your card.

Remove the cooler from the GPU (look for a youtube video).
Replace the thermal paste after cleaning the old paste off both the GPU and the cooler.

If you are going to do this, I would recommend first googling what thermal pads your video card uses and buy some because it's super easy to damage those pads when you remove the cooler. If you don't want to research you could use thermal putty instead of the pads, but I recommend using the correct pads.

You can also use Afterburner to make your fan curve more aggressive, so it makes the fans run faster at lower temperature to try and prevent it from getting hot in the first place, but if your paste needs to be replaced the fan curve won't help that much.

Thanks. Noticed my CPU is running hot now too. GPU has always run hot and just put it down to it being an OC card and the reviews. I’ll have a look into changing the paste and the cpu cooling too!

Me? I have a really old case with the rad mounted outside the case and no side panel, I have a Noctua fan blowing on the vrm and one blowing on the mem, everything stays nice and cool...

I don't really care what it looks like, I just want everything working the best it can...
