Hey there,

I'm wondering if anyone else got this board because i'm getting some troubles with it. I goes from Asus Z790-P thinking it would be better but looks like it was a mistake...
I run it with 13900KF / 32Gb KINGSTON CL32 / 6400.
I've updated my bios to the latest version same for all drivers, first problem is the 10gb LAN port, not recognized by windows at first, second USB port are stuck to 500Hz on startup, until you hard replug them...
Concerning the LAN port once you installed good drivers from Gigabyte it take about 20/30 sec to startup then he doesn't manage to handle 1Gbps FULL duplex and goes to some sort of safe mode 100mbs.... I tested updated driver version that i found on web getting exact same results...

Concerning USB port i don't understand what goes wrong on startup i asked Gigabyte support about but looks like it take some time.
Never though this kind of mid / high end board could be so buggy, even the bios looks quite ****ty was used to Asus i should have stay there.

Regards,

Yes I flashed on F5i last version.
I found out that usb bug is related to bios usb driver in some way it works fine in ultra fast boot with USB disabled.
Still nothing concerning the Lan port.
And I find out weird pci e bandwidth... It works only in x8/x8 even when you put the m2 on SB port.

I've contacted them but only receive sort of automatic message...
Wich make me fear about futures problems. Guess i will return it to amazon and goes for another board too much troubles with this despite working good for cpu / ram.

Both myself and a buddy just built new systems with the Z790 master mobo. I've been experiencing some USB issues (Need to unplug and plug back my DAC sometimes to get it to work). He has had some problems with a controller. Both on newest bios.
13900kf also 7200cl34 ram.

Haven't seen the LAN problem yet. Mine only reads 1gbs also (but I think it will read only as fast as what its connected to).
Yes USB is faulty by default, btw if u enable ultra fast boot (with usb disabled ) be ready to CMOS if u want to return bios because it doesn't load any driver before the OS.
But if your lan port works at 1gbps that's good mine doesn't push more than 100mbs. I think it's hardware related for my case it took forever to start lan driver and detect cable....

Go into advanced power savings and turn off usb suspend it’ll fix this

Yeah, your first mistake was going with Gigabyte.
Stick to ASUS/MSI/EVGA.

It wasn't that long ago I remember Gigabyte was the top brand everyone went to. From their good quick support to fast UK RMA turnaround as well as their rock solid BIOSs. Going all the way back to 2011 for Sandybridge.

I remember for so long most were on Intel/Gigabyte or even AMD/Gigabyte and back then to a degree it was Asrock that was in this position, apart from the Fatal1ty boards.

I've been thinking about sending this thing back, because of the USB issues. I've had really good luck with Memory timings and CPU oc. One of the biggest cons I think is there is hardly any Overclocking support online VS ASUS and Msi. I'm new to the intel platform (had multiple gen of ryzen prior). All my ryzen systems I had max out OC on mem and cpu. So far Intel has been easier at least on the memory portion.

Gigabyte seems to be really trying hard on the mem (at least all there latest releases makes it seem like that).

All board manufacturers have there issues, doesn't matter who the manufacturer is.

My Z690 Master was great board and I did not have any issues. I am not brand loyal, I get the board that is the cheapest that suits my need.

You need to RMA the board, the 10gb lan dropping speeds immediately is an issue. Maybe the 10gb chip is throttling, maybe your board did not get properly heatsinked? All aquantia 10gb chips get hot as hell, maybe Marvell chips get hot aswell. Just return the board if you able to and get a replacement, the 10gb lan issues and USB issues are enough to warrant a RMA.

Also have this board with a 13900KS, always memoryproblems, need to reset often, suddenly it restarts of itself after 5 minutes. Have EKs Direct Die
with 4 radiators and a D5 pump. Cool and good but to much problems overall with this board. I always use Asus before but the Hero was soldout so
I decided to go with this board instead, what a regret....
