Has it ever happened that you have bought a super expensive fan and you accidentally broke a blade? If RMA is out of the question there is still another alternative.
This guide can also apply to any one who want to make there pc look stylish with out having to spray paint the fan.
This can be done by actually changing the blades of the fan. This can work with any two fans just as long as they are the same size. like in this example we will be using two 80mm fans.
So lets get started..
In this pic we see a full transparent / blue fan and blades from another black fan. Suppose the blue fan had a broken blade. There is still hope and that is by transplanting the blades.
First you must remove the stick from the back of the fan. This is basically the same as peeling off the warranty stick on the fan.
What you then see if a black cap. This should also be removed.
That white ring you see inside of the fan is what hold the blades from falling off the fan. This has to be removed to. I found the that the easiest method of removing this is by taking a push pin and ramming it where the ring is split. This will remove it with out destroying it.
Once that is removed flip the fan over and life the blades straight up. This will remove the "propeller" from the fan casing.
Now insert the replacement "propeller" inside the fan casing
Then reassemble the fan again. Put the ring the cap and the stick back. (The stick hold the cap from falling off)
And just like that your fan is now usable again.
Just note if you hear scratching noises when the fan operates with the new blades it could be that it needs to be greased.
