Mostly.. assuming its the 144 shader version, the difference between 128/192bit memory really isn't as much as most think its all in the shaders the 96 shader version sure has a fast core/shaders but the amount of shaders still cripples it. My sig laptop has the GF106 144SP version & 128bit memory interface, 590/1180/900 stock & its quite good.. several games run 1080p with 2xAA/16xAF above 40 FPS. Any game that struggles at 1080p goes near flawless at 1600x900 with everything maxed.

Its not a terrible "gaming GPU" at all.. it can game even in Crysis 1 (as 2 runs better than 1) & thats not at low settings either.

EDIT: useless double post odd... can delete this one..

I would say a GT 540M minimum.. lower than that & they're just too slow.

Hmm, how about GT 630M and GT 640m?
I don't know if I am right, but I think GT 630M is like an upgraded version of GT 530M and GT 640M is also an upgraded version of GT 640M.

GT 630M is basically a rebranded GT 540M, same amount of shaders & clocks. GT 640M is above the GT 555M & is starting into the Kepler architecture, as in GT 635M is still Fermi & Kepler starts at 640M.

To sums it up, do you think a laptop that has GT 555m worth it for a low budget laptop video card?
For an example, Lenovo Y480 IdeaPad, it has core i5, 4GB/8GB, 500GB/1TB HDD and a Geforce GT 555m.
It's in Lenovo's Outlet Shop and cost around 500 dollar.

In my opinion, I think it's quite hard to find a good laptop for the tasks that I am going to do around 500 bucks.
