How many radiators can this d5 pump support http://www.ekwb.com/shop/ek-d5-pwm-motor-12v-dc-pwm-pump-motor.html?
Can you saw on avarage how many componets per pump?Originally Posted by ZealotKi11er
I think once you have enough RAD that 1 x D5 cant support you have so much water cooling gear that adding a second pump will not effect your budget. A setup with up to 2 GPUs and 1 CPU is fine with 1 x D5. Once you move to 3 x GPUs, 3 x RADs + then get a second pump.
RADs dont add much restriction. I personally would not run more then 4 blocks with 1 pump. Also you dont want to have too many pumps. The problem is pumps make noise, dump heat and cause vibration.
Why does the GTS Nemesis have such high restriction? Kinda glad I went with the Magicool Slim's after seeing that.Originally Posted by Anateus

See here. Some rads add a lot of restrictions, some are not restrictive at all.
Much thinner tubes, and in a single row. This helps lower airflow restriction at the expense of liquid flow restriction, enabling it to perform well at low fan speeds (along with the thinner fins also) despite the 16 FPI fin density. The relatively high liquid flow restriction is definitely a factor worth considering before buying them.
It's not the fact that your desk won't fit a bigger case, you can get a case that is the same size but is better suited for water cooling. Then your rads can stay inside and be mounted better and then work better as well. There's a lot of cases that can take a triple rad on top and a double in front or on the bottom, and some are still pretty small cases. Just need to look at some and then google pictures of the case with water cooling inside and you can see what some have done and get some idea's of your own.
this statement is ONLY correct IF you are using an "open" reservoir... in a closed system you could run a hose up & down the empire state building and the D5 would still move the water aroundOriginally Posted by Hambone07si

As far as the D5 pumps, this also depends on how your rads are mounted. If they are laying flat in the case and aren't restrictive, then you could have 20 rads on a single pump and it wouldn't hurt. If your rads are standing up long ways, then the water has to go up and down and that is more work on the pump. Pumps have a "head" spec that tells you how high they can pump water up at a certain size ID of tube. I'm pretty sure that most d5's are around 10-12ft or so.
In my case I have a Quad 480mm, and 2 triple 360mm rads. I am cooling my Cpu, ......
