sorry not sure if this i the right spot to post this but im in need of a mp3 player that can play audio while being charged at the same time. i need it for my job on hold phone system. my boss uses a fm radio/cd player for our current on hold music. just wanted your guys opinion

Usually the biggest issue with using MP3s as hold music at a business is about licensing, not the actual implementation. Most players will play while being charged.

thanks for replying. sorry should have been more specific were not playing actual music they are recorded messages regarding the services we offer and products we offer too that we got through a company in a mp3 format for the hospital. i tried a few cheap ones and when i plug it in through a usb charger it stays in charging mode and wont play any of the mp3. we used a old ipod that was hooked plugged in the usb charger 24/7 its now shutting down after playing a few tracks so i need to replace it.

My MP3 player history has consisted of Creative Zen, Creative Vision: M, and Cowon J3. All three of them could play music while plugged in. My brother has a Zune HD which will also. I've not tried the cheaper/smaller players though. I'd suggest you go about it backward: find a model of mp3 player you like and search for information to determine if it can play while charging.
