Alright everyone, last week my i5 died on me sadly so I have the choice of buying a new CPU.

My question is what cpu should I get?

The new i7?
Get the same i5?
or go with AMD (warning I know very little about AMD CPU's so this is why I need help)

Money, I have up to 450 if I so desire to waste on a new CPU or new CPU/motherboard (AMD)

Also, don't go AMD route unless you're wanting a platform downgrade.

I would just go for another 3570k if you can't get yours RMA'd

I just recently moved a few weeks ago and finally got around to setting up my computer room. I believe something happened during moving it across state.

And RMA only if I want the same CPU, but As you said I might as well just go with the 3570K. I might as well put my Mobo into the other system as well to make sure it wasn't the motherboard that caused the problem and put it through a stress test. So, RMA might be my best bet

What does the system do?

Its more likely to be a broken psu or mobo from heavy handling.

RMA that thing back to Intel. There's no way it should have died this soon. Even if you want something different now, go ahead and get a replacement from Intel so you can flip it to someone else, not that there's any reason to replace a 3570K with something new.
