Hi all,
I returned my first AOC AG271QG IPS monitor last week because of bright pixels and backlight bleed. I received a second yesterday and sure enough... backlight bleed (no bright/dead pixels though thankfully).
Here's some photos I took of the backlight bleed in a somewhat dimly-lit room:
* In-game image of Metro 2033 at 50% brightness: Link
* Desktop wallpaper with darkish colours at 50% brightness: Link
The images do exaggerate the effect but it is still clearly noticeable.
Is this a worthy trade-off to make for the benefits of IPS or should I go just give up with panel lottery and invest in a TN? Amazon has ran out of stock and can only offer me a full refund rather than another replacement and I don’t want to risk buying from another retailer due to differences in return policy. I am strongly considering the Dell S2417DG as an alternative 1440p G-SYNC option.
Would appreciate your thoughts and advice.
