Since you mentioned it, now you're in charge. Just pm a mod. Unless there's a maximus vi owners club or something

I was just in shock that there isn't already a thread for this board!
The last person I saw ask "Where is the owners club?" Ended up as the keeper of the RIVBE club. I was mostly joking, maybe someone else who wants it will join in, I would if I had a MVIG. I do have a MVG and it is an awesome board, though.

I recently bought the Asus Maximus VI Gene and I have some question if anyone has the same board.

In device manager i seem to have an Uknown device and I can't see to find what it is, I think its the Intel GPU but im not sure but I have a GTX770.

Does anyone have this to or could look in his device manager?

I have now purchased a new computer and my choise of MB was this one.
I am keen on overclocking and my previous attemps on the sandy bridge was successful thanks to a great guide in this forum.
That was with my Asus P8P67Pro and i5 2500k. A guide specific to that.

Where can I find a new awesome guide for overclockng Haswell with this motherboard? With all juicy information to do anything manually.

Funny, I just built my first Micro ATX board and chose the Gene VI. It's so small and cute compared to my Crosshair V.

I'll take a look tonight at mine.

My build is done! I will put some info about it.

I used the Fractal Define Design R4 black edition Case with Asus Maximus VI Gene Club.
Everything went fine and the system is up running.

I have a BIG cpu cooler, the phantek ph-tc14pe.
It fits nice in the R4 chassi, no problem at all.

I could also use non low profile RAM sticks (Kingston 2133Mhz), I thought that the cooler would give me problems there, but it fits nicely.

BUT!! the cooler blocks the PCIE Slot 1, so I had to place my GTX 780 Graphics card in the PCIE x 2-slot.

From what I have understand, the second pcie slot only runs at 8x? Is this a big difference for me?
Can I change som settings for the pcie x 2 slot? I have seen settings such as "GEN1", "GEN2, and "GEN3", will these settings make any performance boost?

Do you know anything about the Pcie settings and performance?
Sorry I should've addressed that. I was told that the second slot is x8 and first is x16. I have SLI which supposedly runs at x8 for each PCI-E slot. I think the way the lanes are created are how they have to be. In other words, no software tweak etc for making the second slot x16.

As far as performance difference, I'm not sure. Maybe a few frames less? I don't think it's that significant, but I could be wrong.

Also, I've never messed with the Gen 1, 2 or 3. Maybe it means PCI-E 1.0, 2.0 and 3.0?

If you look into the slots you'll notice each lane has copper in the first shot but only the first half has copper in the second slot. The second slot can run at a max of 8x only

Yup that's exactly what gen 1 2 3 means

Maximus V Gene audio:

Maximus VI Gene audio:

One of the main reasons for my purchase was the audio. We miss out of the headphone amp and THX and solid caps and some other stuff that was of offered on the MVG but not MVIG. We also don't have the gold-plated audio jacks. I feel like Asus really downgraded the audio... I'd get an MVG instead but they're discontinued.
