Here are a couple of pics of my system atm. Im using a temporary build for the time, until my motherboard gets back from a warranty repair! (I killed it along with an i7 when trying to hit 4ghz
Image
Image
) My worklog features everything ive been up to!

EDIT: I have now completed my initial build!! All that is left is my Watercooling setup!!

And the inside! I really feel these pics are a great example of how good a system in one of these cases can look with a little bit of effort!!!

Full details of my build can be found in my worklog just down below in my sig

Nice start Thar!
Image

Something I just noticed from a picture I have of the box, they are calling this case the new generation PC case, not so sure it's true but it's close.
Image

PS, don't mind the cat in this picture, that's kramer, he helped me build this thing.

Definitely New Gen!! No doubt about it! If other manufactures don't pick up on a pre-painted interior with these amazing tool-less + cable management features, they wont be making the right business choices!!

Lol though I didn't notice the cat until you mentioned it

. What a kitteehhhh!!!

Love how tight and the cable management is. Were the cable clips in the case useless?

If you don't hide the wires on the back of the motherboard tray the cable clips are handy.

Hey mate! From what ive researched, It will fit in the case fine since the screw points are the same as an ATX mobo in 9/10 of the locations! The smaller boxes also indicate where the sata inputs are! The EVGA mobo does make it a bit annoying to use the cable management holes! Just thought id include this little bit of info so you can really plan this out!

Ive put a pic here of an:
ATX -> In blue
eATX -> In red

Hope this helps ya!!

I guess when ever somebody decides to sell parts for the lancool cases there would be more choices, their web sites shows 2 windows that can be used on this case, myself I like the wider window just to show off more of the inside. I also seen this esata bay device that I would imaging wouldn't take much to mod into a matching fan controller.

I didn't realize this before until I was looking at one of my pictures, the case is vented at the bottom for the PSU that I thought was just for the standard size PSU but it looks like it will also vent the larger Corsair HX1000W PSU which I don't think too many other cases are set up for.

Yeh its great isnt it. I was worried about my psu not getting max airflow coming in, so i tipped the case upside down and found that it matched up perfectly!!

This is something I have been spending alot of time thinking about mate!!
Image

If you dont want to cut the case, you could fit a double and triple over the top of the case, but I would use a radbox or a koolance rear bracket mount so that the radiator is extremely stable and safe! I will be using one of these brackets for my system because they are so easy and accessible.

If you did want to cut some of the top plastic, a double will fit perfectly. The case has 2 holes behind the top case fans as well that are conveniently positioned for inlet/outlet, that will save some drilling. You would have to use some angled connectors however!

The pics attached show double + triple rads on top of the case:
Blue = Double
Red = Triple
Green = Triple hanging off the back to put tubes through rear openings

These pics show the top cover off and the 2 holes @ on the top of the case towards the rear I was talking about:

Hope this helps ya mate!

I know this is kinda of a random question but how is that G.Skill ram cooler working out for you Thar. I was thinking about picking 1 up as they are pretty cheap, but im worried my sumbeam core contact freezer will block it somehow, it's mounted to vent upwards. How high is it to, cus if its any higher than my Bloodiron northbridge sink, i dont think it'll fit. Also, how are the blue LEDs. Really obvious with a window? I hate blue LEDs, so generic, I'd want to disable them if possible. Thanks mate.
Image

Also, I'll be sure to post lots of pics of my k62 when everything is installed, I think its gona look really sharp, can't wait.

My system is out of action for the time being, but when I did a test setup the other day the ram cooler seemed to work really really well. Just touching the ram heat sinks you could feel how cold they where. I dont have any temp screens as full lot of bench tests hasnt been run yet!

In terms of should it block your other heatsink, the cooler covers 6 dimms and sits ~85mm high (from motherboard to top of cooler) when installed. Ive got some pics here of the cooler with the dimensions!

If you can take a few pics of your comp I should be able to make a more accurate prediction!

In regards to the blue LEDs, yeh they are very bright. I personally love them as they go with the rest of the system
Image
.

Hope this helps ya!

#24 ·
Thanks for the help. I decided to take the plunge and just order it. Worst case scenario I end up mounting it a little more to the right because the heatsink is hogging space. Right now my sink covers 1 of 4 dimm slots, so I think it should be able to cool fine if I mount the ram in slots 2 and 4. Since you said it cools so well, I figure its a nice $15 dollar investment that I'll hopefully use for a couple years.

As for the blue LEDs **sigh** they sure are a pain in the ass.
Image
I think they'll have to either get sharpied or painted. I looked at newegg too, and I could always get a more powerful replacement fan with no LEDs for 10-15 shipped if I killed this fan accidentally.

LOL! You will have to let me know when you start toying with it. I haven't pulled the thing apart yet so it should be a learning experience for all involved
