Run Command Prompt as Administrator, should fix your issue.

Make sure that nvflsh64.sys is in the same folder as NVFLASH.EXE

I'm not sure but chances are you need an older version of NVFLASH. JoeDirt has a link in the OP to techpowerup where multiple versions of NVFLASH are listed. Perhaps you can look there but we only deal with 9xx cards here so sorry I don't know for sure.

hi iam expericing some wierd crap right now and i wondering if anyone can help me with this one.
okay so here i go i wanted a custom bios and i flashed it and i didnt go so well since it was to high clock for my gpu so it crashed as soon as i got into windows but got it to work by going in to safe mode and flashing it back to a custom bios made by my self in maxwell bios tweaker but then i got the same message in device manager but i could still use the pc,now i want to flash back but now i get this error again after using his bypass :ERROR: BIOS Cert 2.0 Verification Error, Update aborted. have tried different versions but then it says that the command is not supported.
in device manager it says that the gpu stopped working.
heeelp!!
assus 980 ti strix
sitting here in 800x600 resolution.

When i was on windows 8 i flashed a custom bios on my 970 G1.
Now i am trying to flash an updated version of said bios, but all i get is this msg.

ERROR: Unable to setup NVFLASH driver (0x00000020)
Detailed :The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process.

I have tried many different versions, even the .218 one, tried disabling the card and restarted.
tried quitting geforce experience.
nothing worked, help please, I am all out of ideas.

Are nvflash.sys and nvflash64.sys in the folder with nvflash.exe? Have you tried rebooting the pc after receiving that error message?

I know this can be frustrating, but have you tried flashing in safe mode as admin command prompt?

Is it possible that you cannot change the vcore on some cards? I have a GTX 970 mini from ASUS. Yesterday, I tried to modify it and I could change the PT, but neither could I increase the voltage over 1,212V, nor could I set the fan speed to 0 below 45 degree celsius.

Referring specifically to MAXWELL (this is not an all inclusive list):

* Most ASUS GPUs are voltage locked except the Matrix I think.

* Many EVGA GPUs are voltage locked except certain higher end models (classified obviously is one)

* All (I think) Zotac GPUs are voltage locked but they do offer an app to adjust voltage (Many say it's a POS/PIA)

* All MSI GPUs are NOT voltage locked

* All Gigabyte GPUs are NOT voltage locked

When it comes to modding a BIOS, it's always best to know this stuff up front because although there's still benefit to modding other values, being able to modify the voltage is usually what matters most.

So reading parts of this thread I see people are able to flash Pascal GPUs now. Is there anyone doing BIOS mods like Mr Dark did for Maxwell? I have a 1080 Classified. And even on the LN2 BIOS I'm hitting that 130% power limit at a measly 2150... It wasn't an issue before I switched to an Intel setup but now I'm hitting voltage and power limit. This card has more to give I know it. My two 970s after flashing actually out performed the 1080 in some cases.
