maybe you just got a bad chip,

i had a phenom ii x4 955 BE overclocked to 4 GHz and it still bottlenecked my xfire 6870's.

nothing i could do except get a new chip...

maybe, turn off SLI and do the same thing with one GTX 460, and then turn it on again and zoom in and out with your SLI setup.

if you dont lag with one GTX 460 but lag with 2 then yea, its bottlenecking it

 

I don't think its a bad chip all my other games run smoothly like napoleon and empire total war. The witcher 2 also runs smoothly on max settings (no ubersampling). It has to be something with shogun or drivers. I'm just wondering if anyone else on OCN is experiencing my problem with similar hardware.

 

Try disabling crossfire? Maybe it has something to do with tesselation not working correctly since it's when you're upclose to the units.

Shogun is very cpu dependant, witcher 2 and the other games you listed are not as cpu demanding

 

its a problem with shogun, It happens to me as well with my i5 and 2 6950. I'll get ~50% gpu and 30% cpu when I zoom in.

 

Shogun 2 is awesome, besides that is there maybe a reason with the zoom in? perhaps that is how the game is just programmed when you zoom in?

Ahh cool to know I'm not alone. Their were also people on TWcenter that experiences are problem. So I assume we have to wait for CA to patch it?

Even Napoleon or Empire total war? Surely they're almost demanding as shogun 2.
