I've tried searching but can't find exactly what I'm looking for.

I have an i5 2400 that has been in a motherboard with bent socket pins, the system had a few attempted starts, it never even posted or beeped. The CPU cooler fan gave a quick spin and then nothing.

The motherboard is way out of warranty and I need a new one anyway as I'm moving to ITX for a Prodigy build.

So my question is could the CPU be damaged or is it safe to use in a new system? How can I test if its safe?

Hey, what does the back of the cpu look like? maybe you could take a photo or something.

I don't think so, the pads don't look damaged on the CPU and they're flat anyway so shouldn't do anything to new motherboard pins.

Would be good to wait for someone more knowledgeable come along though!

I used a CPU in a motherboard with bent pins before, and never had any problems when using it with a new motherboard
