I want to extract some textures and sound files which are all in a .big file. I've done a Google search and come across a program called "Finalbig", however this doesn't seem to work.

Anyone know of anything else which may help?

.big could be anything, anyone can make a file and extend it with .big, where is the file from?

Try opening it with 7zip. A lot of game files for example, PK3, are actually renamed ZIP files.

Its from a game. The file is "yeti.big"

I've tried that editor and unfortunately it didn't work.

Believe this: http://aluigi.altervista.org/quickbms.htm is your only option. You need to write a custom script for it.
