I have a Ryzen 5900x and some Samsung B-die 4x8 3600 cl14 ram. However, i experience weird problems i know i shouldn't for such an expensive machine. Been banging my head for years. I have the latest drivers etc. And i know a little more about hardware and overclocking than the average person. (When i say avg person, i dont mean avg overclocker lol) If you can give me some specific tips about things like, CPPC, CPPC preferred, C-states off/on type stuff it would be much appreciates. Even better, if you know any general rule of thumb tips about VDDP voltages vs cldo VDDP i could apply. I know Ryzen likes stepping of 40-50mv for CCD,cldo vddp, vsoc etc. Save me from bashing my head in lol Thanks folks!

Good point, so i am running PBO and a +4LLC. Currently im not using DOCP, but it applies whether its on or i do manual settings. (from Ryzen calculator or Asus mem profiles) In games the problems i experience seem to be the CPU can't keep up with GPU (3080) Its like the draw calls are being slower than GPU, so things will pop in, small like the grass will kind of shift. Aiming down iron sights in some games will cause extreme hitch every time i right click (ADS). Games requiring high transfer rate will cause a really choppy experience when panning left/right, like Halo infiinite for example. Most games get choppy when in lobby or loading area. Like when the characters walk around in ModernWarfare, or how they do the animation right before the match starts. Its not a whole lot, but enough to where i know its not normal. When doing memory benchmarks in Linpack extreme the results aren't stable. I wont get errors though. Moving around some windows can be really choppy/stuttering like EA desktop. When extracting large files the speed will drop to like 25 MB/s and swing up to 100's of MB/s. Aida benchmark shows L2 copy rate will be anywhere from 100-200gbs less than read and copy. Icon's will load in slowly. (even getting rid of temp icon files) but this will vary depending on CPU voltages. I've replaced all the parts in my PC and all these problems persist. And i mean everything, motherboard to PSU to memory to CPU to storage to GPU and so on. Thanks for your help. I can do a print out of bios settings if it helps. But even on auto settings these problems apply, some settings help slightly some hurt slightly, but never get the experience id expect from such an expensive machine. These problems happen whether or not memory temps are 34C- 50C. (max temps hit 51C at times) Thanks for the help!

First: Check Dimm temp on load with hwinfo. If the memory is over 50c after 1 hour full load, then you want to cool the memory with an direct fan over the dimms :)

Yes, on the x570 Dark hero. I have tried with just two sticks and also different kit in a 2 stick configuration. And they were in the proper slots, as per that manual. Its maddening lol.

Is your PBO stable? Have you run corecycler on it? You'll probably get better performance with LLC on auto. After that do your mem OC and you should be performing good.

#10 ·
I have run it before and it was fine. I have the same problem even without PBO on and same with an auto LLC. The problem persists regardless of what i do, just to varying degrees. I can get it sooo close to how i think it should perform but, these weird problems is what remains. (some of the problems are less so depending on which way i go, but never gone). =/

#11 ·
What settings have you set in bios ? What are your memory timings ?

#15 ·
I have gone from all auto to bios settings/stock. Same with DOCP on. Same with manual timings, regardless of what they are it happens. I can get a print out of bios and post if that helps though.

You've tried the presets between 3200-3600Mhz right? If so, you would need a fan over the ram for active cooling.

Also, you didn't disable any c-states did you? With AMD you keep them enabled at default.

Another thing...I would like to see your bios settings. A phone video at 1080p should do. I don't know if you messed with PPT, TDC and EDC or tried to tweak PBo, etc. All of which under utilizes the Dark Hero. Have you figured out how to use Dynamic OC? That is what separates the Dark Hero from the other Asus x570's.

#20 ·
I have tried a bunch of different configs as far as memory profiles from asus and using DRAM calculator. I've also tried a bunch of stuff With DF-cstates on and off and all that. I've done no undervolt per core and even adding voltage per core I've spent more time troubleshooting this computer than i have playing games sadly. Here is one i've been playing with today, its the text file from bios. And i do know how to use dynamic OC. Its very cool, i want to set it up permanently, once i get this ironed out. I have managed to get over 16K in Timespy cpu test with dynamic OC.

Wow, I can clearly see why you are having problems. You are trying to use every CPU OC tweak in the bios all at the same time. You need to reset the entire bios to default.
Memory Frequency [DDR4-3733MHz]
FCLK Frequency [1866MHz]
Set the ram to 3600Mhz
Set the FCLK to 1800Mhz

Although it's not clear in the bios you have PBO 1 and PBO 2. PBO 2 is for this gen of Ryzen cpus. PBO 1 was for the older version. So PBO 1 should be disabled. Your curve optimizer settings don't look right. Are you saying you don't have at least 1 core that doesn't need a negative offset? And you don't have a best core?

Also, why are you using PBO Fmax Enhancer [Enabled] with curve optimizer? Again, you are using every cpu OC tweak in the bios. This should be disabled.

Max CPU Boost Clock Override [200]!!????? With that offset...WOW!!!!
PPT Limit [350]
TDC Limit [300]
EDC Limit [300]
Did you copy this from someone else?

Again, reset the bios to default and set the memory to 3600mhz. Assuming that the memory can do that at stock.

I have tried without all this all, and it still persists. even with everything stock/auto. I was saying i have tried to use all on positive offset and negative offset, i've also gone by CCD and done some configs with just the cores that SEEMED they might benefit from a positive offset, and the rest negative. I basically used the methods from Skatterbencher and other overclockers. From what i've seen from skatterbencher and Gamers Nexus etc, PBO and PBO2 work in tandem to get the best of both worlds. I could be misunderstanding something though. Also, Ryzen Master will set the PBO2 to -30 on the cores and clock tuner does the automatic check and overclocking, and does the same thing. Ill try to reset to stock again, but i am pretty sure it will persist. Ill be back! Thanks for the help!

I would like the proper BIOS setting for a ROG 10 asus gaming computer running windows 11 operating system, it has a 1 TB samsung nvmd ssd drive and a 1 TB toshiba ssd drive. 16 GBs of samsung RAM with a octacore cpu. Am sure the reason of the Blue screen of death is due to incorrect BIOS settings. The first time it went into blue screen of death it stayed that way till the BIOS and the 512 GB Intel nvmd ssd drive was changed to the 1 TB samsung nvmd ssd drive. So please send me the correct BIOS settings for this ROG 10 computer that has windows 11 operating system.
Thanks
