I'm planning to upgrade the SSD on my Lenovo LOQ 15IAX9 Gaming Laptop, which has the following specs:

- Intel Core i5 12th Gen 12450HX

- 16 GB RAM

- 512 GB SSD (current)

- Windows 11 Home

- 6 GB NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050 Graphics

I've got my eyes on the WD_BLACK SN850X NVMe SSD (1TB), but before I make the purchase, I want to confirm if it's compatible with my system. The WD_BLACK SN850X has an M.2 2280 form factor and i think mine is M.2 2242

Can anyone with experience upgrading their Lenovo LOQ laptop's SSD (or similar hardware) chime in and let me know if this SSD is compatible?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Have you tried contacting Lenovo to ask them instead?

It comes with a 2242 SSD but both slots support 2280 SSDs, just make sure to remove the battery's cable and press the power button for 10 secs to clear any current before doing anything ever on a laptop.

you can get every detail about any lenovo laptop by using psref.

Regardless of physical compatibility, I don't think I'd use the SN850X in a laptop, as it's rather warm and power hungry. And yes, I have one.
