Hi there!

I about to release Thaiphoon Burner 6.3 the only powerful tool to work with Intel XMP profiles. The new version of the utility has got the new XMP Enhancer Professional to create and modify Intel XMP profiles. The final version of the XMP Enhancer will provide an ability to generate XMP profiles automatically in accordance with your DDR3 memory timings and speed grade. You just need to push a button to generate over-clocking XMP profiles! That is a great idea, right?

Below you can find two preliminary screenshots for Thaiphoon Burner 6.3.

Recently I released Thaiphoon Burner 6.5 Super Blaster utility. The new version features SPD Browser 3.0 which is capable of downloading SPD firmware from Micron Technology web server. When Thaiphoon Burner has been released there were 2973 SPD images available for download. Unfortunately, in two days Micron removed 338 records from its Part Number List of memory modules. Yesterday it was increased up 2812 again. Despite Micron is playing with its PN list cutting it down and restoring again, SPD images are still available to download.

Released Thaiphoon Burner 6.7.0.0 Super Blaster. This new version is capable of write protecting SPD permanently. Besides, now it is possible to determine whether the SPD EEPROM device is write protected. Just chose PSW Protection from the EEPROM main menu and check if some checkboxes are enabled. For instance, if you have two memory sticks at address 50h and 51h and the EEPROM at 50h and EEPROM at 51h checkboxes are disabled this means SPD EEPROMs are write protected permanently and you cannot rewrite SPD.

I bought some DDR3 sometime back and remember wanting to change the SPD data and was really pis**d to find it was write protected permanently. IIRC however, after a little digging it appeared only the first 128 bytes are locked, so I was able to make up and write an XMP profile (XMP resides above the first 128 bytes) and use that. So not all hope is lost for those that run into permanent read only DIMMs if your mainboard supports XMP. Probably the same goes for EPP.

Thaiphoon Burner 9.7.0.0 has been released. Key features:
  • SPD Data Protection Test (EEPROM -> Dat protection test);
  • SPD Background Backup (Backup -> Backup manager);
  • Added information about DDR3 and DDR4 DRAM Package type;
  • Added part number identification for HyperX modules with SK Hynix DDR4 components;

Hi!

I'd like to share the new version 9.8.2.0 of my Thaiphoon Burner utility. I've successfully implemented a lot of interesting ideas that you will probably find them useful. So, here is the key features of the new version:
  • JEDEC DIMM Label Coder toolbox designed to help memory module manufacturers build JEDEC DIMM Labels for DDR3 and DDR4 modules;
  • The colour scheme of HEX Editor has been improved;
  • The latest SK hynix A-die components are recognized when found on HyperX DDR4 memory modules;
  • The Part Number is displayed in case of Nanya DDR4 components;
  • The program provides more information specific for DDR3 LRDIMM;
  • Information specific for DDR4 NVIDIMM is displayed in the report;
  • New Micron 8Gb and 16Gb DDR4 components, such as D9TNW, D9TNT, D9TBJ, etc are identified by the program;
  • For all series of Crucial Technology DDR4 modules the program can identify employed components;
  • XMP Enhancer can access DRAM configuration registers of "Skylake" CPUs to create XMP2.0 profiles on the base of current timings;
  • SEC DDR4-2400 and DDR4-2666 components are identified.
So, if you need to know the part number of employed chips on your DDR4 memory modules you can use Thaiphoon Burner software. The Demo version of the program does not hide any information from you.

Hi!

I'd like to let you know that the new version of my Thaiphoon Burner 9.9.0.0 was released recently.
Quote:
"The most significant addition to this new version is support for the recent "DDR4 SPD Document Release 4" which defines new DDR4-2400, DDR4-2666, DDR4-2933 and DDR4-3200 speed bin groups adopted by JEDEC as the industry standard for DDR4 memory. So, the Timing Table Editor and XMP Enhancer for DDR4 SPD contain 15 new standard speed bins both for regular DRAM and 3D-stacked DRAM devices - DDR4-2400T, DDR4-2666U, DDR4-2933Y, DDR4-2933AA, DDR4-3200W, etc. For LRDIMM DDR4 modules with SPD 1.2 the program displays DRAM VrefDQ value for each package ranks. The new D, G, E and H revisions of Micron 8Gb DRAM chips are identified. Part Number is displayed for Micron DRAM components if these have been found on Kingston ValueRAM DDR4 memory modules. A-die SK hynix DRAM devices are correctly recognized for Kingston DDR4 memory modules. Another noticeable change is the new color scheme of all dialog boxes. A traditional for Thaiphoon Burner high contrast black color has been changed to medium gray. This should improve interaction with the program. The Settings dialog box has the third tab sheet named "Color Scheme". So far, it lets the user to change the color of the Main Toolbar, e.g. you can select white for Windows 10, and the current color scheme for HTML reports."

I'll be trying to fix my faulty SPD on my G.Skill ram later on today, what is the best way to go about this? I've downloaded the SPD file from the Thaiphoon database that corresponds to my Ram kit, should I just go ahead and write the SPD file from the database on the faulty stick?

Here's the report that I got and the file I found on the database: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B4hoXY-91SDFSUtWNVlrMy02aXc

I've triple checked and it seems to be exactly what I'm looking for, just asking because I have never done this before. That faulty SPD readings are a result of the Asus Aura software writting on the SPD to change the LED colors and they messed something up and I lost all XMP profiles on one module

Edit: Also, awesome software!

Hey!

Yesterday I made the new version of Thaiphoon Burner 10.1.0.0 build 0506 available for download. I applied my efforts to the XMP Enhancer for DDR4 memory. It can check each SPD dump in the SPD database for XMP 2.0 profiles availability.

All found XMP profiles are sorted by the clock frequency and listed.

So, if you want your memory modules to have a XMP 2.0 profile from, e.g. G.SKILL TridentZ, just select it from the list and flash it!

Any chance you'll sell a license type that will allow enthusiast to modify their own DDR-4 XMP profile's without being a business?

I purchased the Thaiphoon Burner Super Blaster Personal Edition a couple of days ago, hoping to modify my DDR4's XMP profile (increase the voltage from 1.20v -> 1.35v and loosen up the timings a little bit) to make my RAM a bit more compatible with my Ryzen Motherboard ( buggy UEFI ). Everytime I reset the BIOS, I'd have to enter the timings manually, and set voltage, hoping that if I edit the XMP profile on the SPD - I can just enable XMP on the BIOS and off I go.

The program says the DDR-4 XMP enhancer is only available on the PRO versions of the software, but the PRO version can only be sold to businesses. Hopefully in the future, you'll sell a license type that will allow enthusiasts to XMP enhance their own DDR4, maybe limited to a maximum number of XMP enhances (to differentiate it from the PRO version), or just allow individuals to buy the PRO version..
