As far as I know it wil because games are region free, but the question is will my TV support it?

Also, I takeit that if you have a UK power lead, for the PSU on the PS3, you can just use that as its the same socket?

Are you 100% sure?

The seller im purchasing it from states that its the same power equirements and also supplies the UK power cable.

I take it US NTSC will work through HDMI aswell then?

I have a flat panal LCD TV and will be playing thorugh HDMI

YEs...IF you could get a step-down transformer. A chinese PS3 would work, as they're 230v. I dunno the workings of the PS3 - Is it a power brick? if so just swap it out for a uk one regardless of voltage.

I have an online friend with a Japanese PS3 and he says he can only play JP games, though that's contradictive to what you guys say...

On the other hand, I have a rl friend with an Israeli PS3 that imports games from Japan.

As for NTSC/PAL, don't worry about it. It really doesn't matter... everything works with everything.

The ps3 games are region free, but Japanese games will still be in Japanese, so could be hard to understand if you only speak english

.

As for the power, it really depends on the PSU in the ps3. If it can auto-switch, then you would just need to get any power cable that works in your country, like the one you plug in the back of your PC, and you'll be good to go (my laptop was like that, I went to germany and just had to get the end power cable and it worked fine).

Well I guess they show the region anyway, im pretty sure they are region free.

The numbers on the back are probably to track where there made, plus the majority of them will be sold in that country anyway.

Ive read that PS3's are dual volted or something along those lines, a 5A kettle adaptor works fine with my friends, and even the pc cables that come with psu's work according to many sources on the net.

Just check on the back where the power lead goes in, it should say something like 110-240V or something, as long as its that, you are good. otherwise you need a stepdown transformer.

Won't Pal/Ntsc also be a consideration?

Seriously, unless you're saving A LOT of money, it doesn't seem worth it to me.
