This is nothing... You don't see people saying the same about cigarettes, or any other form of tobacco. Media tells you what they want, not everything.

 

I think there are alot more things causing problems in the world then just leaving computers on all the time. And it wouldn't make that much of a difference, because how many of those mid-sized businesses have a couple servers each that are on all the time and rarely ever get turned off.

 

Any decent system admin would have all the machines turn off at 6pm unless in active use.

you guys do realise all this global warming crap is bs don't you. i watched a program on channel 49Uk) a few month back and it turn out that the earths atmosphere and temps and such ahve been alot hotter than they are now and this was back when we still lived in caves. It's something to do with how much radiation the sun puts out or something and it goes up and down, we currently are on an up and because we have all the tech we do now it looks worrying until you look back thousands of years and realise it was hotter then than now.

I think the corporate world is dumb anyways, waste everywhere you see. This earth is going down, just a matter of when. Nobody in our generation seems to care. BUt I bet 15 gens from now they'll be screaming why didnt anyone do this before hand?

Like the hydrogen car could solve so much crap, but oil industries and all sorts of people would loose too much money. It's stupid and selfish

 

Ahh.... I believe that most appliances still draw power when turned off. This is either due to a stand by state or insufficient cutoff design. This wastes more power than PCs left on. It would be an easier fix as well... when you turn something off, it should turn off!

It's funny how corporate enterprises want to place the blame on the average Joe for killing the world. Instead of pissing and moaning about how we waste energy by folding to cure cancer, why not put some of that towards alternative energy sources instead...

but, unless one wants to live in a cave and hunt everything that one wears and eats, we will not exist in an equilibrium with nature.

Now... before anyone flames me to a charred husk, I will acknowledge that the statement is rather glib... but there is some truth in there...

 

Exactly it is all BS... Total BS. Where I work they throw away tons of plastic instead of recycling it. It makes me cringe when I see all that getting thrown away when it could be recycled. As for the pc's and other appliances... it takes power to do anything which means giving off CO2. The world goes on.

I'm not suggesting we go caveman-style and live out the rest of our lives like that- Far from it! Alternative energy sources (Wind, solar, geothermal, tidal, etc.) need more attention, not to what we're doing wrong, but what we need to be doing right.

Lol wait a minute....you just said dont beleive global warming (which i am presuming you are saying is a spin by the media) and then you watch some MEDIA that has the opposing arguement and go along with that. It's like saying one murderer is right and one is wrong when infact they are both BS
