Hi, was wondering if y'all plan to keep the gpu you have now and upgrade only when the next gen consoles come out in 2-5 years seeing that majority of games that come out are console ports. Vote or die.

The new consoles from Microsoft and sony MIGHT have a 5770/5830 equivalent. Wouldn't really be much reason to lean towards better graphics because a Radeon 10,000+ Series would be out by then. A jump from the current GFX system in the PS3/Xbox 360 to a 5830 equivalent would be a HUGE jump for the console gamers.

I predict my pc will be more powerfull than next gen.'s consles
This. The hardware used in the new consoles will end up being stuff we used 2 years ago.Originally Posted by Hawk777th;14624595
Who cares about the new consoles? They never have top of the line equipment in them anyways.

I think I'll be holding out until the next architecture.
Console ports or not, still a lot of demand for GPU power.
Not every games a console port, it's mostly mainstream consumer junk (like cod), and especially, terrible film spin-offs that look terrible even by console standards.Originally Posted by BigCactus;14624742
I don't really care about consoles, but I guess I have to since everything is ported over from them to pc. So consoles are basically the "standard" and games that require a lot more gpu won't be pushed until next gen consoles get here.
