I mean, when you buy a new case, how long does it take you to remove all your components from your current case and install them into the new one? I have only done this once, but it took me around 5 hours. It was the first time I attempted it and I was really scared that I would ruin my components with ESD. Surprisingly, everything worked though.

Oh right, I also had to change my CPU cooler, that added to the time as well.

But yeah, 5 hours. That is a lot of time.

So how long does it usually take you to do this?

Ah right, I should probably be more specific then.

I changed from an NZXT Apollo to a CM 690 II Adv, and I removed the stock AMD heatsink and added the CM Hyper 212+.

For me on average it's only taken about thirty minutes to an hour or so, perhaps a little bit longer if I do cable management right then and there. If you don't have to change the HSF, clean up the TIM, etc, that's a big chunk of time reduced.

To do it the right way, it takes me a few hours. However, I am a perfectionist.

However, I recently had to convert a BTX case to an ATX case and that took considerably longer.

I think it depends on how you are with your cable management.

For me, if i just threw everything in and tied it down - I could probably do it in less than in hour, swapping a case.

But i like to take my time, have a rest watch some tv etc. and really think about how to rout my cables etc to make it look tidy. The more time you spend inside your case the more youl learn it. Last time i swapped a case, it took me 3-4 hours but I muck around a lot.

Usually a few hours, but I like to take my time so that everything looks nice.

When i went from mATX to full tower it only took about ~30-45 minutes(including cable management)

moving from thermaltake M9 to nzxt phantom took about 1 1/2 hours with doing cable managment as the phantom is easy to work with hard part was stripping the M9 down
when I moved my sig rig from my nzxt phantom to this haf-x it took about 20 minutes, but I cheated on cable managment by putting spare cables under psu cover

It took me about 2 hours to build my rig (first one) but that includes a 12 round combat with the H60 backplate which I almost lost.

moving from my thermaltake v3 to my cm690 II advanced took about 5 hours. This included the actual transfer of hardware, pictures of the process, and lots of cable management. And with it being a new case to me, it took a little longer finding that "perfect" way to route all the wiring and hide the unused cables.
