not sure if I would like going back to TN though after having 3 ips 1440p's
I did for me. Sorry! I just read through the rest of the thread, I haven't checked it since wed. I had 2 different r9 290x's and they both flickered on the samsung panel to some degree. I had the sapphire tri-x which was horrible flickr was so bad i couldn't do anything. I then tried a XFX DD version, didn't flickr at first but after 15 minutes or so of Valley it flickered pretty consistently. That was the end of my rage limit and ordered the 780ti.
What are you using to measure vram usage?Originally Posted by steel615
I would stick with Nvidia for the time being... I started with a R9 290x on the samsung panel and after pretty much pulling all my hair out, I swapped it out for a 780 ti and everything has worked perfect ever since. Been running strong for weeks now without any issues. Only issue i run into now is FarCry 3 fills the vram on the 780 ti at ultra texture settingshaha![]()
I just use GPUz at its only at 3840 x 2160 that it fills the memory. I think there just might be areas in that game that spike it. I just get a FPS dip for a few secs and then its fine again.
Here a review of the 780ti that seems to hit the same problem..
They have the AA set to 8x in that review. That's way, way overkill.Originally Posted by steel615

it is very infrequent so not a huge deal.
ask Roikyou. post#1130 . . .
I do agree, but you cannot deny that R9. 290/X got a HW problem that cripples them at 4K . We tested yesterday with my friend a HD7870 onthe A oc and it ran 60Hz OKOriginally Posted by Silent Scone
It's pretty clear it's an issue between the signal strength but there are issues with the AOC panel as well. The AOC is a very consistent flicker, where as other users have been experiencing a much more intermittent fault, which is where the signal strength from the card and the cable are coming into scrutiny. All very much unanswered at this point
That´s my thinking, too. I mean the 780 Ti is a nice card and very powerful but to be honest even current generation games are already scratching the VRAM wall.
Had or heard? The panel used is exactly the same (M280DGJ-L30) and uses the same screen surface.
