I would pay $120 for a A3090 inside a Xai or Kana shell with 0 smoothing and a button on top that changes back and forth from 400/800 DPI & 1000hz.

I might as well learn to hack firmware because it's probably doable using a Kana V2. Just have to dump the smoothing.

Well - how about opening a thread and offering someone the money for putting the sensor in your preferred shell? I'm pretty sure that 's the way to go if you really are ready to spend the money and aren't wanting or able to do it yourself.

To bad that product would sell like crap

Hey there could be hundreds of sales, hundreds!

I mean it could be interesting if logitech offered like 2-3 different shells levels of buttons all using the same platform just omitting some things and changing a shell but logitech isn't that kind of company. High volumes and expectations to ship to storefronts means they really can't be that kind of company. Although if they could run a higher priced, niche oriented, limited production run versions of mice that are on-line pre-order only I think that could work out for them at least in PR and help them gauge demand if most orders are filled by logitech directly. But i imagine that their support department would hate their guts.

Thought for some reason even the G402 sensor doesn't work for me well for a reason I can't tell even if the benchmarks tell otherwise I struggled doing exact aim with flickshots and the like at 960 to 1200 DPI and 1000hz compared to the PWM3310 in the Rival and even the ADNS3090 in the Kana v2 while doing hours of comparisons between them using Exact Aim from aim400kg.ru. Metal for example has one of the highest auto-rifle precision-ratings in BF4 (30-40%+ don't remember it exactly) while exclusively using the Avior 7000 implementing the PWM3310 as well despite some people calling it a swamp cursor that is.

Maybe it's really down to their stupid shapes that hinder having a better real-world performance - just like I had trouble consistently aiming with the G502. I consider both the G502 and the G402 to be worse in shape then their previous shapes which were well rounded and successful for years on to many. But you know Logitech ... just like they ditched the G9x shape that many loved instead of introducing them as an additional option.

Anyway: Real-world performance > theoretical benchmarks and advantages.
G502 sensor in a bunch of different shells would be pretty much the dream for anyone not on a budget. I'm gonna go ahead and say it was the ridiculous weight and dumb shape that hindered your aim, not the hardware. I still use mainly G9x despite the garbage sensor. The shape's simply that good.

I don't consider the G402 sensor outright bad as I've never needed more than 2.5 m/s, and hope it hasn't been downgraded in the likely G302 implementation. Regardless, the whole convoluted bandaid for a crippled sensor move still isn't acceptable. Derp put it to words better what I had in mind.

well, i want a mouse that is light and a high max speed, so this looks very promising. Hopefully its not more then 80g not including cable. the g402 advertised lightweight materials and was still over 100g...

Also, when comparing the g402 sensor to the g502's, its easy to criticize, but compared to any other modern sensor, it is preferable. While i would prefer the 3366 in the g302, it seems like my 2nd choice is being implemented, which isn't bad. When Razer makes a mouse with comparable sensor performance to the g502, we can start criticizing the g402 and g302's sensor...

I think Razer's too busy infusing everything with "16.8 million vibrant colors" to care much about implementing new sensor technology atm.

sorry if this has been brought up, but its odd in the picture, it looks ambidextrous, but it looks like there are only side buttons on the left side....

looks like no third button on the left side of the mouse and looks like a nice beefy connection for the cable to the mouse!

Isn't that wet dream for many here?

Very G402'ish

oh boy the nightmare. The cable from hell

lemme guess, they're going to include an accelerometer, altimeter, and barometer this time? because we all know we need to check the humidity for our sweaty palms. haha, might as well include a thermometer as well!

There must be a way to do it right? to flash a proper non smoothing firmware onto a Kana V2.

If the manufacturer puts out firmware updates someone who knows coding could probably hack their tool. I know the first thing my G502 did when I first brought it home and plugged it in yesterday was to update firmware. Not a kana, but its the same concept.
