The U3415W offers an aspect ratio of 21:9 (cinematic), with a native resolution of 3440 x 1440 pixels, refresh rate of 60 Hz, and 8 ms response time (GTG). Display inputs include HDMI 2.0 (sufficient bandwidth to run the panel at its native specs), mini-DisplayPort 1.2, and MHL. The monitor takes both analog inputs, and digital audio passthrough from its HDMI 2.0 and DP 1.2 connections, to drive its inbuilt 9W stereo speakers.
I question the HDMI 2.0, but who knows. It would be about the right time for it to start appearing. Hopefully Dell comes out with an official press release.

cant say I am surprised. After LG announced they were going to release one, it was only a matter of time before other manufacturers announced there own (not accusing anyone of copying anyone else, just that it was inevitable that they would all make one)

That being said, I cannot wait for these things to be released and drop in price enough for us mere mortals to afford

The model number was rumored since December of last year, so everyone assumed it would be using LG's 34" 21:9 flat panel. Now the 8+ months of no news makes sense.

I still think I would prefer a flat version, but I'm content enough with my 29". If I pick up anything it will be their new 16:10 24" as a secondary for old 800x600 games.

Damn I was hoping they will utilise thunderbolt 2 like the LG.
But I guess if the panels are the same, it won't matter as long as LG get their QA back up to speed after the light bleeding fiasco on the first 34UM95 monitors.

There are plenty of company's that claim 2-5ms but they rarely actually archive that, if this is a true 8ms monitor it won't be bad. I'd wait for reviews to see how it performs.

The pixel response time isn't the main issue concerning gaming, that merely measures how long the pixels take to change G2G (what everyone recognizes as ghosting). And that figure is almost never accurate anyway.

The main issue is the input lag, which monitor manufacturers almost never list. The input lag is also measured in ms and is the time it takes for any inputs to the computer to go through the processing of the monitor and to be finally displayed on screen, completely independent to the pixel response time.

You could have a pixel response time of 0.001ms with absolutely no blur, but a 100ms input lag so everything feels 'floaty' and delayed, and vice versa.

This is more of an issue on TVs rather than monitors as the image goes through a lot more processing on a TV than a dedicated monitor, which is why most TVs have a "game" mode, which bypasses as lot of the additional processing to try and lower the input lag.

There is more information on the monitor as it appear to have to come to hong kong.

Pretty much the same panel as the LG 34UC97, without thunderbolt but with DP cascade support, and a better stand as well as full vesa mounting without the need for a special part.
Looks pretty promising for 100$ less.

Anyone found an proper review on thees yet. Tired looking on the web but besides the short article on Guru3D I found very little info

Dell.com has them listed as shipping on 1-20-15 and it IS HDMI 2.0 according to their listing.

I'm about to hit the order button!!!!! Should I do it???? Really should wait for a review.

Is anyone here maybe using this Monitor to play Games as well ? I switched from my recently bought LG34UM95 to this one here from DELL and I notced a few more issues with Games as if they appear kinda teary if you know what I mean. I realize that the DELL has 8ms and the LG had 5ms, but I also read many posts about people saying that you wouldnt see the difference between 5 and 8ms response time so much. So either its just imagining stuff or there is a difference. Or is the input lag on the Dell worse than with the LG ?

Any information about that is very welcome.

Thanks.
