I've had issues with VRM temperatures, going over 120c.
1700 @3.9ghz 1.31v - Gigabyte Gaming 3
I use a 240 AIO cooler which I guess is not providing any air flow to the VRMs like a stock cooler would.
I've therefore had a VRM fan duct 3D printed which seems to be working well for me.
Test using Premiere video exporting
With VRM duct + 140mm Fan (1/2 speed) - 81c max
Without VRM duct - 110c and climbing !
