A multitude of Pascal based processors has been released over the past year or so, among them the GeForce GTX 1060, 1070, 1080 and 1080 Ti. All models honestly are equally impressive within their product positioning and segment. With QHD gaming (a screen resolution of 2560x1440 pixels) I've always felt the GeForce GTX 1070 always has been the more attractive product due to its price level, while the 1080 cards are really what everybody wants (but perhaps cannot or will not afford). The good news though is that Nvidia has designed a product series that will fit smack down in the middle of these two, at what we hope will turn out to be an attractive enough price. Nvidia has enabled this new 1070 Ti GPU with 2432 Shader processor cores (also referred to as Cuda and Stream processor cores). That number quite honestly means it's very close to the GeForce GTX 1080.

Vega 64 was already dead but 56 is not as bad as 64, now it has been completely eliminated. 1070 Ti is best card for the 400-450 bucks.

Nvidia dominated all of the segments for the gpu market, I feel sorry for the poor Amd. What will be next move ?

I don't understand this card honestly..... no aib oc versions, priced almost like a 1080...... wut?

Such a toxic end statement. Silly NV fanboy. You won't be saying that when NV pulls and Intel and released a 1170ti with a 3% performance boost but with a much higher msrp lmao.

Lol we've been being ruled by Nvidia since 2013 what are you talking about ? I'm against monopoly but criticizing silly movements of Amd doesn't make me fanboy right ? Currently I don't see any reasonable attack from Amd, do you see ? If we won't see any good products from Amd, I'm hoping one day an Asian company will buy that RTG department. That would be logical and historical progress for the humanity.

Are you buying a 1070 TI?

You are not the only one. Price literally overlaps with the 1080 now that GPU prices are coming back down to MSRP...

What I would like to see are the mythical $350 GTX 1070

It probably won't happen this year. Sorry to say.
I still believe we are getting some sort of refresh in 2018. And perhaps the release of the Nano Vega card that was shown to press a few weeks ago.

Right now, it's like the old wild west days. Where you would by the card (it wasn't called FE back then) and you went online to find a reputable aftermarket cooler. Back then it was Artic:

Now a days its Raijintek:

Can't always wait for AIB's to do it for you.

Really no point in getting any of these 1070, V56 or 1070 Ti when you get a 1080 that isn't mining hiked much. The prices are all $50 different at most including 20%+ tax.
Even the 1080Ti can be found a tiny bit lower finally than the insane launch price. Still a clear premium over a 1080 but at least it has the performance to show.

Polaris, nonexistent in shops for most of it's time. Vega, if you can get one it's and overpriced reference crap model.
Nvidia doesn't even need to try, yet they do put that extra nail in AMD's coffin.

We haven't been ruled by anything. RTG has always been about price to performance. The last few rounds, people have been buying off the shelves for mining. That's the reason why we see more NV builds.

My concern with Volta is AMD. If AMD can't get their feet back under them in GPU, Nvidia will milk the living Hell out of Volta and us.

Nvidia will continue to deliver on the ultra high end, where they make money. However, the 1070 Ti is clearly a test on how far they can manipulate the consumer market with the control they have.

Edit: My hypothesis on why Nvidia is being controlling with the 1070 Ti and what AIBs can do is that some 1070 Ti are software locked full 1080s.

Maybe they didn't pass validation completely, but still worth keeping. I bet we see some unlocking.

Hmmm, 1080 is a way better deal.
