Hi,

I'd like to flash my gpu with other bios due to increase power target, because i hit perfcap pwr on stock (without OC), though i set pwr and temp limit to max in afterburner.

My gpu is:

Gigabyte RTX 2070 Super Gaming OC 3X

Which bios do you recommend guys?

I was thinking about this one:

Is it possible, had anyone tried it? Or which do you recommend for increase power target?
I have this one on my Gaming OC 3X...

Can i use bios from other manufacturer i thought that i'm limite only to Gigabyte bioses?
Can you increase power target in afterburner and it's actual increases?
Do you have any problem with that bios (fans, boot, boost, voltage etc.?
You can flash any 2070 Super BIOS. Yes, I can increase power target to +130 and fans and everything else work like normal. In reality it only give maybe 20W more headroom. Max I've seen the card draw with +130 is a little over 260W. The card doesn't have the cooling capacity for more than that anyway.

I flashed bios that you recommended. Everything works normal, i can increase power target to +130, but as i saw in afterburner graph, my card draw max to 240W with +130.
What program do you use for mesure power?
How do you mean tha card doesn't have cooling capacity for more than that? Is more power more heat or what did you mean by that?
Had you tried any other bios with more power target limit, than this one(EVGA)?

And yes, my card despite that EVGA bios, still hits power target (PerfCap Pwr) under load(Without OC). Not as much as did before under default bios, but still.

Mine only draws ~260W during benchmarks, but I also have a slight OC of +80. GPUz and HWiNFO64 both show the same thing.

By cooling capacity, I mean my card already hits 75C (auto fan), so it would get even hotter with more power and just end up lowering the clocks.

The only BIOS I know of with a higher target limit is one from Palit with +140, but the fans do not work properly. I've never seen the card even hit 130% power usage though. The most I've seen is like 122%.

My card hits 274w, at my max overclock I don't think these cards do much more than 270 to 280w max, I have attached my gpu-z.

Bit strange with the evga bios my card runs a lot more power, don't know why the card doesn't clock as high and seems less stable.

Card wont clock higher than 2190mhz with this bios, so i'm going back to my old bios which seems more stable and uses less power.

That seems correct for the EVGA BIOS though; it has a max power limit of 338W. I'm guessing the BIOS you were using before had a limit if 275W or so. Can't say why you're not able to clock as high. Did you compare benchmarks with both?

I've not compared the two tbh, one has a 320w tdp vs Evga 338w, I think I've hit the limit with my card the 320w bios has given me best results in 3dmark I will just stick with it, I thought I might get a bit more from my card with the Evga bios but it just wont clock as high bit strange. Maybe with the 320w bios my card doesn't read the wattage correctly, i'm just going to leave it now until someone beats my score on 3dmark.

With an MSI Trio X 2070 Super with TrioZ Bios and Power MOD (0.003ohm Shunt on Top)

maximum displayed value was 19.89A
19,89A x 12V = 238,68W + ~75W(from PCIE) ~=315W Total under Load

Don't think you needed to do the shunt mod I'm audi2pete in the 3dmark scores you posted looks like i'm second fastest YAY, I have the 2070s x trio, but no shunt mod,

I've ordered a i9 9900k I'm going to go for the fastest 3dmark rtx 2070s in the world..... I just hope it clocks better than my terrible i7 9700k < worst cpu i've ever owned..

Zotac 2070 Super Twin Fan BIOS

This was my experience. Gpuz reported a higher unlocked max power, but the card still throttled at 110% even when unlocked yo 130%.

My overclock actually went down too. I had my best bench results on the factory bios. A bit disappointing, I was planning on putting a waterblock on it and may still, but we'll see.

To be fair, even with the factory 100%, it does overclock pretty well. I just wish I could do more.
Have you had any more success in getting more out of the card after flashing or you settled with the stock BIOS? I'm still on the fence if I should go for it or not.

I'm just curious, i've seen benchmarks and the perspective of reviewers. What about the 9700k did you not like?

It just runs too hot I can't keep the temps down, I think I just got a bad chip, mines a really bad overclocker I can't get to 5.2ghz, and to get near it I need over 1.55v, I got lucky with my graphics card but unlucky with the Cpu. Even at stock the cpu can hit 80c if using intel burn test.

I do have a big custom cooling solution so cooling isn't the issue, it's just the heat transfer from chip to ihs is very poor on my cpu, I have tried a few different cpu waterblocks but none of them have helped, I'm hoping my i9 9900k that arrives tomorrow will be better to cool if not I'm just going to have to live with it, in all honesty I'm probably going to destroy my 9700k as im going to try and delid it just to try and get better temps.

Just got rid of my 5700 for a 2070. Looking forward to see how it performs.

Anyone else come over from Navi?

i did about a month ago. had a red devil 5700. card OC'd like a monster using SPT and stayed super cool with high speed fan curve..but, even 100% stock, that thing couldnt go a couple hours without a black screen crash and i tried EVERYTHING.

finally gave up and moved over to a 2070S, card is faster and cooler and mine OC's pretty well it seems...still looking for the upper limit, so far so good though.

Sweet. Mine is coming through UPS ground so slooow. But it will get here.

I want able to afford the Super, but initially thought I'd only have the money for a 2060 so pretty please to score the deal I got.

I know Nvidia isn't perfect but every time I go amd I always find myself going back to Nvidia.

I take the bet on ryzen 3000 series lol!!!
Want to see if and when you could come back to Intel[emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]

Concerning the Navi, AMD got the same issues they had with Agesa and ryzen 3000...
New tech need time to be safe and good performance...

For me the 5700 was a sacrifice to wait for the real deal : Big Navi

Be patient...

PS : Nvidia want to use the same archi for their next gen after ampere...
Be sure you'll have the same drivers bugs as AMD[emoji28][emoji28][emoji28]
