New bios MEG X570 ACE | Motherboard | MSI Global

7C35v1I2(Beta version)

  • Change the default setting of Secure Boot.
  • Update to AGESA ComboAm4v2PI 1.2.0.7.
Updated to this
max clocks are lower by 100Mhz or so, no longer hitting 5Ghz
But also running core voltages 0.08v lower across the chip
USB Audio still stutters if 3080 PCI is on gen4, ffs

edit:
OK, so after setting some vcore offset im closer to my previous bios clocks after making up some of the change in vcore, because I assume new bios runs the chip at lower vcore by default? Never messed with vcore before because PBO just let me hit 5ghz no problem on almost half my cores, gotta mess with it a biut more i guess to see if i can claw back the rest of my performance as im still @0.05v off of old vcore.

In all honesty I have net had the same issues, my clocks are pretty good with this Agesa 1.2.0.7 and my CPU apears to be running around 15 to 20c cooler while running CB23, but I did however cleaned of the cpu and cooler and reapplied the same Thermal Grizzly thermal paste. But I also finally broke the 30K in CB23

Is there a separate thread S variant? ( I can't seem to find it if there is). I should be receiving one in 2 days. I have been reading as much as I can.

I am coming from a very wonky GB aurora master v 1.2 that I have only had for about 3 months. All previous bios experience was with Asus boards. Since I had that GB board, it has taken out my CPU (and RMA replacement), one stick of ram in one of my new b-die kits (RMA in progress), and various no boot/automatically clearing bios settings to defaults.

So do I ask things here? I am sure I should be able to get used to MSI's bios layout. I am aware that this board functionality depends on what slots are used.

Anything i should know up front, tips or suggestions?

5900x b2, 6900xt, multiple ram kits, full custom water loop (spare 3080 12gb to play with)

Who knows about new function Kombo Strike?
I tested Kombo Strike last night.
Setting it to 1 put -10 on all cores in Curve Optimizer.
Setting it to 2 put -20 on all cores in Curve Optimizer.
Setting it to 3 put -30 on all cores in Curve Optimizer.
I think PPT TDC EDC remained the same and Scalar stayed at 1x; but I can't get 5800x3D Scalar to change anyway.

I didn't test it much more than that to see if any other hidden options had been changed.
I went back to an unlocked 1.2.0.6c
I forgot Kombo Strike was in the Beta version 7C35v1J1 with Agesa 1.2.0.7, so I actually went back to the unlocked stable version 7C35v1I with 1.2.0.7. I can't find the post/member that unlocked the MSI BIOS files. I was going to tell them thanks.

It would appear that MSI at some point unpublished ver. 7C35v1I. Ever since I upgraded to it, my chipset fan has been acting funny for the first hour or so I'm using my system every day. So debating moving to a different ver. Problem is, the next version available is still a beta. I hesitate to put beta firmware on my system because it's so critical to my daily life. The whole reason I went with 1I was because, at the time of my CPU upgrade, it was the highest GA version, and therefore likely to be the safest bet. I've seen others post some scary stories about upgrading to this ver. however. Luckily mine's just an annoying noise that eventually goes away.

Is anyone aware of a listing of firmware that has been pulled back by MSI? It would be really great to get some sort of proactive notification that a firmware I'm using has been withdrawn due to it breaking people's systems.

Also, how safe is it to go back to 1H and what would the ramifications of that be? I usually find reverting BIOS riskier than moving forward.

Can any of you pls confirm, if there's available any option in the latest bioses that can limit frequency bellow stock.

Like a global limit on all cores to be set manually, or a pbo negative offset, and if there is...... is it limited in any way? I mean, how low can you set it.

Thank you

Secure Boot found insecure in older BIOSes. Update your BIOS to the latest version: MEG X570 ACE

I know this is not the thread for my mobo, but it's related. Im on windows 10, agesa 1207, b550 carbon+ 5900x.
I installed agesa 1207 and because of secure boot i couldnt use a gt750 to get into BIOS, so i had to take a 1070ti, use it to get into the bios, deactivate the secure boot, the swap.
Well the other day i reset the bios to default when i disassembled the PC for some parts and cleanup and it booted with secure boot on, with the same gt750
