Hello everyone,

I've been having an issue with my AMD motherboard the one listed to the exact. This issue would happen every so often but it would pass post everything would work fine until I get a random shut off with the code 00 and memory test on the board. This issue is typically solved by shutting the computer off from the power supply and the turning the computer back on again and it seems to work just fine I'm running it at base speed currently 4800 MHz and even then it would fail let me know what the possible Solutions are next and honestly if I can't fix this I'm probably just going to wait for the next Generation Intel chip or a 13th gen and end up settling on an apex motherboard

Thanks

What I'm running right now if that helps the troubleshooting matter...
7950X
32GB dominator platinum 6200 megahertz latency 36
980 Pro 1 TB
RTX 4080

Woops, if it's doing that on 4800MHz and used to work before.......the CPU might be about to die, a Zen4 VSOC overvolt thing possibly, especially 6200 C36 RAM was probably running high VSOC on 'auto' right out of the box.
Code 00 is mostly a dead or failing CPU (and sometimes the board), both on AMD and Intel. I suspect you're not running any undervolt on it?
I'd also check the socket and the underside of the CPU, just to be sure. Also make sure to update the BIOS to the latest version.

I had a 7800X3D crap out on me in 2 days after building it, running latest BIOS and all. Gave up on AM5 immediately and got a 13700k.

So I only left xmp on at 6200 for a week or so and I ran occt so it was not stable than I manually set voltages from the buildzoid video movie down to 6000 cl36 and putting it safer voltages than i updated the bios to 1415 and here we are

I also ran Timespy 3DMark, and it passed without a hitch which confuses me because it’s a stress test to stress a system

Random issues are always the best. Well if you believe the 00 error after the shutoff it's a CPU code. Since it's random what I wonder about is... I don't know what you use for cooling, but in my case I have a waterblock. So for me I would back off the mounting nuts a bit then gently tighten them again. Since it's random makes me think of that kind of issue. You mention that it can pass stress tests etc so it seems more likely a mounting/warping issue. Of course these days my lightbulb isn't all that bright so I'm probably wrong.

Wish you luck in fixing this.

clean setup of Windows should solve the problem

Random shutoffs and the error code 00 on the Asus X670E Extreme motherboard could indicate several potential issues. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the problem:
  1. Power Supply Unit (PSU): Make sure your power supply is functioning properly and providing adequate power to your system. Check if all the power cables are securely connected to both the motherboard and the PSU. If possible, try using a different power supply to see if the issue persists.
  2. Overheating: Random shutdowns can be caused by overheating. Ensure that your CPU and GPU temperatures are within safe limits. Clean any dust or debris from your cooling fans and heat sinks, and consider reapplying thermal paste on your CPU. You may also want to check that the CPU and case fans are spinning correctly.
  3. Memory Issues: Faulty RAM modules can cause random system crashes. Try reseating the RAM modules or swapping them around in different slots to see if the issue resolves. If you have multiple RAM sticks, try running the system with only one stick at a time to identify any problematic modules.
  4. BIOS Update: Visit the Asus support website and check for any available BIOS updates for your motherboard. Updating the BIOS can often address compatibility issues, improve stability, and fix known bugs.
  5. Faulty Hardware: If the above steps don't resolve the issue, it's possible that there is a hardware problem with either the motherboard or other components. Consider contacting Asus customer support or a qualified technician for further assistance. They can help diagnose the problem and provide recommendations for repairs or replacements.
Remember to take appropriate precautions when working with hardware components, such as disconnecting the power and properly grounding yourself to avoid static electricity damage.

That ChatGPT spam is getting troublesome.

Code 00 has nothing to do with Windows / software.

This is the 2nd or 3rd time its happened to me. It just happened to me just now. I've been having this exact issue as well. did you ever resolve the issue?
What motherboard is it?

EDIT: misunderstood post.

Same thing happening to me on X570 Dark Hero.
