Anyone experience with KLEVV? Do there MT upgrades actually translate into higher bins? Or should I just grab a 6400 kit and be done with it.

My DDR4 kit will sell for OK money considering we're on a new platform because it is really hard to find now and is basically the best bin of DDR4 released.

So I don't mind paying up a little bit for a good bin, on paper, of DDR5. But hey it's still a chain of luck from the CPU IMC to the memory itself.

Yeah I got some good money for my 5800X3D+Unify-X and especially the 3600C14 Royal Elite kit. It sold for a lot.. like €180 for the memory kit alone. I sold the X3D and board to a mate who had a 3600C16 kit already so.

2x16GB seems to be SR now on DDR5 unlike where it was DR on DDR4. Is SR easier to OC on AM5?
DR 48GB kits are meta now hehe. They absolutely rip. There doesn't seem to be much difference in terms of ease of OC between SR and DR kits so far. I've seen plenty of users here run 48GB DR at very high frequencies and tight timings. Of course 1T GDM Off becomes a lot harder with DR but still.

DDR5 SR kinda internally already acts as DR DDR4 so a DR kit would be more like quad rank. It's still faster but not as much difference as DDR4 had.

Still, I'd highly recommend a fast 48GB kit. Back when I got my setup they weren't publicly available yet otherwise I would've grabbed a 48GB kit.

Ah, yeah, just had a look. Seems like the TEAMGROUP (2x24GB) 8200MHz 38-49-49-84 @ 1.45v is the stupid kit this time around :ROFLMAO:

Oh well, maybe I'll buy that :coffee::eek:

Alright, think I'm gonna go for the FFXD548G8000HC38EDC01. That is the XTREEM DDR5 2x24GB kit and at 8000MHz 38-49-49-84. The 8200 seems like a bit of a Unicorn kit for the EXTREEM range at the moment and will no doubt fetch even more stupid money.

Is the TREEM range binned differently or are you just paying more for the aesthetics compared to DELTA?

Wasnt (24gbx2) kits guaranteed m-die SR? I though that DR kits started at (32x2)gb....

You might actually be right there. Only the 96gb 2x48 kits are guaranteed DR or 64GB 2x32 kits..

I never really went too deep into the whole 2x24GB stuff but I do want one.

Do you remember how much faster was a dual rank DDR5 A die kit vs a single rank one?
I remember a post from @wmdieselmc comparing karhu speeds, but i dont know how much faster it was comparing to a single rank kit...
PD: Dementia kicking in o_O

Normally RAM errors out above 50C and RAM fans really help.

Even with super tight timings and settings, errors can even occur lower, like above 42C.
my ram hits over 55c and never errors in Karhu/P95/Y-cruncher/TM5/OCCT, Is there something I don't know?

From my experience, at the same timings and frequency, DDR5 2x32GB is much faster than 2x16GB. I can't explain why though.

Yeah.... I would like to know the percentage diference of both configs at same timmings and frequencies, and also if it impacts single CCD cpus as well as dual CCD ones .
I have a friend with a couple dual rank hynix dimms but he doesnt know if they are A or M die..... hoping they are A die to test them

From my archive, they are not identical, but you get the idea. CPU is different also.

Well as far as i know TRFC its pretty temperature dependant, i had errors on OCCT prior of changing the heatsinks on my ram and adding a corsair ram fan on top.
i think i read somewhere that M die has much higher heat tolerance compared to A die, i have M die so that might explain.

@lostking yeah definitely test watchdog legion benchmark for ram speed but remember that 2nd run is much worse then 1st run.

I start the game and wait for 1-2 min on main menu for CPU to cool down then I run the benchmark very high preset 1080p ( I have rtx 4090 so my GPU has enough headroom but if you have weaker GPU then run it on much lower settings) and then restart PC if I want to run it again...

Watchdog legion on non X3D CPU's is extremely sensitive to ram timings etc

Think I've finally settled on Patriot 48GB Viper Xtreme 5 DDR5 RGB 8000 MHz UDIMM Memory Kit (2 x 24GB) as it's the cheapest 2x24 set I can get at 8000. Timings being 38-48-48-84 at 1.45v.
And how does pricing compare for a 2x32 kit?
