Ya I find this is easily the best layout of timings and especially with that msi board 😀 8400 nice job! It’s funny to me how the frequency is the main limiter …I run 4300 16s, other than bandwidth…it’s basically the same 4300 or 4200. Will ddr5 ever mature to gear1 at these frequencies or is this the limitation…

Hi there everyone. I have the normal Z690 Unify ( non-x ) incoming due to the need of a certified nvidia SLI motherboard support and this is the only mobo that i could find available that runs SLI natively. Need it true natively SLI for running rtx 2080Ti's SLI and other newer video cards in SLI for benchmarks points at hwbot.

Any good reccomendations on the best and stable Bios on this mobo ? Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately its a limitation on both Intel and AMD.

Well AMD Ryzen 7000 you can run 1:1 ratio between UCLK (Memory controller) and DDR5 up to 3000 (6000 MT/S) sweet spot and good samples if not most but definitely not all can do 3100 (6200 MT/s). Some rare golden bins ones may be able to do 3200 (6400 MT/s). But still no 1:1 with infinity fabric unlike DDR4 and Ryzen 5000 which could do 1800 (2600 MT/S) Infinuity Fabric and UCLK all 1:1:1. Where as Ryzen 7000, Infinity Fabric is 2:3 ratio.

Intel is different and its in Gears. Just no Gear 1 for DDR5 regardless of Speed sadly. And they have ring bus which is so much faster and better than AMD infinity fabric and superior memory bandwidth and speed ability. Plus Intel can achieve far higher DDR5 memory speeds than AMD without going down gears as most chips can do 7000MHz in 1:2 Ratio where AMD tops out at 6200. And many Intel chips can do 8000 or more stable. AMD is pretty much stuck at 6000 or 6200 for optimal ratio.

Guys i need some help. Is there any software for overclocking cpu's from windows ? I have search long and hard and i cannot find any software for my Z690 Unify mobo to oc the cpu in windows :( . I even tried intel xtu and it does not work. You guys are my last hope for help 🙏

Any link or help will be greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

Guys, any idea what the problem might be, from time to time when turning on the PC the motherboard resets the bios settings, at the moment the system is running with the default settings except for the fan speed setting, when turning on the pc the bios settings reset, as if I just put together a new system. The problem appears very rarely :rolleyes:

Change cmos battery.
