You are a genius bro, on many subjects. I know you can easily do this.
There is no jail-free card in life.
I just want to say, that a ROM shouldn't be your focuspoint.

Yes signatures exist, and yes Mainboard side is not far too different.
On NVIDIA's side you work with a RISC ecosystem and the watchdog called Falcon.
To this day its one of the least explored subjects and when further explored, will change even more.

Boardpartners utilize its API to control the cards, its how basically all 3rd party and Vendor-OC tools function.
Some on known API, some on not so known. If you explore GALAX's, Palit's early EVGA tools you will understand :)

The ability to chipID rebrand is more of a dream, than a "firmware fooling" thought or result.
The chance is higher to piece your own Bios together vs modify a signed one.
And yet, this piecing together will invalidate the signature required not only to flash it, but to pass initialization stage.

You can always think of it as "fully impossible, till backdoor or bug is found".
Hence i hinted "economically not viable for such late generation".
And if we look at it from the legal side, its indifferent to not reporting a CVE.
So far i think there are ~5 people who somewhat understand it, to be able to bughunt on it.

Further "mocking" and messing with nvflash, aside it being obfuscation hell (mostly)
Will force a change of though and change of turns, as it happened with amdvbflash past RDNA2.
The Team completely remade the tool, because i found 2-3 backdoor-bugs in it for RDNA2 as also made my own ROMs.
Never published, never told but the fear of unknown + restructuring and some employment of people ~ lead to this decision.
// EDIT: After the early decision with RDNA1 and the "plus/external" flashers being gone from the reviewers side.
// A full attempt to limit chip-ID rebrands, while they didn't completely limit them away with RDNA2. But they did harden ROMs layout significantly.

We all like and love the way things are, in their current allowed and half restricted state.
Yes yes, i know EVGA and co. I can see its difficult and annoying, but it can be much worse.
I am neither a RedTeam person, nor do i hold any Vendetta to anybody. I'm a paper-uneducated human that just likes difficult challenges.

omgvflash was stupid, but it bridged the gap between GTX 3 digit , to GTX/RTX 4 digit generations.
It honored and reminded of the past work and legacy of all the people till the Greenlight program came to existence.
It shouldn't have existed on 4000 series and is cut down. But you know the backstory and lets not resummon it again.
TLDR ~ it was quietly ignored by NVIDIA, as Splave's showcase for Blackwell on LTT was equally quietly accepted.
And we should be thankful, because it can be worse.

That sounds like a threat, and i wasn't ~ but after all
I appreciate my freedom or neutrality that i have and the friends i still have in this industry or outside it.
Special sauce stuff is silly, its gatekeeping, it may has monopoly taste, but at the end its still strongarmed by the highest leader.
And that's just our market. If we want change and more access or freedom, its not on one person to go against the tide :)
Thank you for reading my novel of saying why its a bad idea 🤍 You at least still get to have XOC ROMs, even only after some time~

dont wanna mix 5090D with regular, there are some similarities but a lot less similar than 5090 to 5090 variance. I guess for purely benchmarking it works, but those of us that actually use the cards for AI can't use 5090D BIOS

You just have to flash back then. Or not use it lol.😂 it’s an option.
Isn't the 5090D physically different than the 5090 in order to cut it down like the 4090D is relative to the 4090? IE. wouldn't the 5090D's BIOS be made for less ROPs and/or ray tracing cores and/or tensor cores and/or shader units and/or cuda cores and/or etc. etc.? In other words, a physically different card?
They are the same specs as far as I know. Not like 4090/4090D. That’s why HOF 5090D Galax is a BEAST!!! It’s essentially a fully fledged 5090 in games and most regular things. It even has jumpers on board so you manually move the jumpers which allow it to run full power from its 2x12vhpwr without needing a special bios. It’s just crazy expensive.. Also, Astral 5090D and Waterforce WB 5090D are nice cards with XOC bios available. All crazy expensive though.

Im just mad BIOS flashing a 5090 is financially risky. If GPUs were still $350-450 i would be a little annoyed, but throwing 3 grand down the drain is like giving up a decent weekend trip somewhere nice, and that's different.

My goal is to get a 700W BIOS for my Gigabyte card working. Could do 900W max, meaning the slider goes to like 130%=900W but it defaults to 700W. I just need a little extra to keep my core voltage around 1010mV at 3100MHz for some games

Some games run fine at 950mV, which keeps power around 600W, but Flight Simulator will not handle ANY instability whatsoever and i end up closer to 2900MHz and over 1000mV
Yes, some of us just want 50/100w more to improve stability in certain scenarios, we don't need more, something like 700w would be fine.

i run .875mv on every game i play and no issue at all

I don't really bench firestrike unfortunately so no help on that end. It looks like a hot key would solve your answers. I have not ran project lasso in some time, but can you kill the process as firestrike changes test or do you need a system restarts to undo the affinity? Regardless a freaking 118K in graphics is impressive!!!!!

Once you start tinkering with timespy if you disable SMT and running 8600 (assuming FCLK is 2266 or 2200) your CPU score would be very impressive for ryzen. I'm guessing in the 22K range.

But you are not limited by ram, 8600 is very impressive!!!! Kudos, I'm stuck at 8200/2200 and even that is not stable on my 4 dimm board.
I will try time spy when I get home today but 8600 is very unstable for a heavy loads. I hope it can survive CPU part.

Plus, When I try to change affinity by using second monitor while benchmarking it just stops benchmark.

Btw 4 dimm mb doesn't matter really when imc is good since same CPU can do 8800/2200 with tomahawk at 10c ambient on winter :p

PLATOON TEKK god connect ****. Connect came through again. This time in person too. We finally had some time with one of the two HOF XOCs (silver GOC IceMan prototype block from weeks ago) to test the waters.

Sometimes using 2 PSUs just works better ⚰. 1x UPS/PSU (1600W) dedicated to GPU12v-1 and 1x UPS/PSU (1300W) dedicated to GPU2 12v-2 and rest of the system (14900K). NOTHING else plugged into UPSs. Adding 20 amp to the PLATOON TEKK studio this/next week most likely and will go for 2400/2800W PSU for simplicity.

**** sounded like a Cessna crashing. Surprisingly EVGA Supernova G2 1600 held up for 1695W! See pic above. Was only item plugged into 1500W CyberPower UPS. 😅

Other psu is Galax HOF GH 1300.

Benchlab has been useful for telemetry, elmor came through for sure.

The 2 connectors are definitely putting in work. Genuinely impressed for now. Let’s see if all this power and voltage translates when it comes to benching. 2nd release 2001W XOC bios been solid.

Has more info and pics about this and the setup we will be using (6 chillers x 15 Pumps @ 33426 BTU).

This is amazing. Talk about a comprehensive setup!

I got so excited seeing this I shouted out loud, then my girlfriend came in to see what the fuss was about and said I better not be thinking about doing the same thing.

She said that person must have mental health issues. Which was unwise and a politically incorrect thing to say. The primary condition this person has is Awesomeness and commitment to a cause.

Go get some @PLATOON TEKK

I won't be putting my order in for any industrial chillers or nitrogen tanks any time soon, but I can see the appeal. This is amazing!

haha this made me genuinely laugh out loud. I mean, to be fair, I don’t think she’s wrong 🤣🤣⚰.

But on the real. Thanks for your kind words and support man. There’s only a handful of people that can appreciate a setup like this; let alone understand what it does. So your input is encouraging, I also don’t know if I can recommend a similar setup haha. It feels like I’m in the titan submersible at times. Especially with how intricate yet ghetto some of this **** is. I’m fighting dew point, electricity and catastrophic failure all while hearing the deafening buzz of pumps, compressors, UPS warnings, coil-whine, fans and loudest of all; me questioning why the **** I’m even doing all of this.

Good look on the comment man and I’m all for political incorrectness haha

Nice. Indeed, just like the pops and cracks you hear going down in the titan submersible.

I mean, I am super interested in this stuff. You know how it goes, it's a slippery slope. One day you get shown how to build a PC by your best mate (on carpet.) Fast forward 15 years or so and I finally try wartercooling. Then I change my build and components literally all the time, for the sweet, sweet crack of the new shiny. I love it though.

I haven't got time with family and stuff to get so into it nowadays, but who knows what might happen in another 15 years!

Why are you doing this? For the glory of science. You remind me of a cave dwelling Neil Armstrong or Felix Baumgartner.

First world problems lol
People do have the option to buy a 5090D now if they really want access to an XOC bios. Expensive, but assuming a lot of the cards on ebay are legit, easy enough to accomplish.

Better route IMO is to just mod a 5090,particularly with prices coming down now.

Did this crazy guy @Carillo completely remove the shunt resistors? LMAO

I’m just here waiting for the updated scores like it’s the season finale of a telenovela. Somebody pass the popcorn and the fire extinguisher... this GPU’s about to melt.
