Detailed graphics card http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Graphics_processing_unit specifications and reviews are greatâ€"that is, if you have the time to do the research. But at the end of the day, what a gamer needs is the best graphics card within a certain budget.

So if you don’t have the time to research the benchmarks or if you don’t feel confident enough in your ability to make the right decision, fear not. We at Tom’s Hardware have come to your aid with a simple list of the best gaming cards offered for the money http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Money .

So no GTX280 and no 9800GTX.

Excellent suggestion, but for that they would also need to include performances based on different SLI and CF boards that would make for a hell of a time. I'm glad they kept it simple for the ordinary guy looking for the best bang for the buck.

I'm glad to see that Tom's has gotten back to some good hardware reporting. For a while there the testing results seemed to be a little off and a lot of people were beginning to doubt their neutrality and objectiveness due to some inconsistent benching and reporting.

Yeah they did get into a bit of a slump, and I was starting to doubt them. But lately they have really been stepping it up.

4850 FTW as usual. Decent review.....all of these ties really reflect market competition, as the prices were lowered on NVidia's cards after the 4K series arrived.
