I've been modding my CM690 as some of you may have seen before. The idea of this "project" is to just add some finishing touches and tidy it up a little.

Here's some Sketch up pictures before I started the mod:

This is the top rad mod, To tidy things up a little I'm getting one of these rad grills

You can see the fake floor I'm going to make out of acrylic plastic that will be slightly smoked so you can JUST see through it

It fits in the case perfectly

Taken it on and off a fair few times now

You should consider putting the radiator on top, and having the fans mount under the case. That's how I did it, and it looks pretty nice. It does require more cutting, though.

That's pretty awesome but I did consider that and the fans I'm using with the rad makes it all too thick to put inside =[ unless I cut the top of the case out and not just the mesh hm.. I'll explore that one

Yeah, I had to accept the fact that I'd be stuck with 25mm fans when I planned the mod. Also, they're a pain in the butt to screw in, so they're pretty much permanently placed.

Here is a second update.

I have finally got my Top fan mount big cut although I measured I can't fit a rad grill on there!
Image
So I'm ordering some fan grills instead, won't look as nice but at least they fit

PC and watercooling is now done. Just needs some cable management and the fake floor doing!
Image

Just saw this in the MOTM competition. I love your colour scheme and your detailed plan for this, seems like a very well executed mod so far. I'm looking forward to seeing your fake bottom going in.

As for the cable management I would strongly suggest cable sleeving, it will look so much better. Make sure you get the good fabric stuff instead of the plasticy stuff though.

Think I'm going to just use some of these black fan grills on the top fans because the rad grill doesn't fit like I'd hoped. Its too long so it will stick off the front and back of the case
Image

So I'm considering using these:

Wonder if you'd thought of making a grille for the top from something like a Staples desk tidy or even an office bin or whatever? Probably have to paint the stuff after bending but it's dead cheap. Linky.
I didn't think about making a mesh really because my case has a mesh front so I would have to do the entire front panel and top to make it look good and so it flows

Here is a small update. Took a few more photos of the case

Here is the other side of the case. Looks simple but neat

Both side panels and front panel showing off my parts stickers. [Core 2 Quad, Powered by Corsair and ASUS motherboard]

Here is an inside shot from the front of the case. The case is on an angle hence why the fluid in the res looks weird
Image
You can see the top mounted radiator here as well although its rather scratched

Close up shot of the motherboard to show you the NB block, bit of the CPU block and some RAM

Image

Finally, my HD5770
Image
Love this card! Overclocked it to 900Mhz core and 1400Mhz memory clock
Image
Can also see a bigger shot of the mobo, ram and blocks and some messy cables at the bottom!

I've ordered the plastic for the fake floor and should be getting that cut up and sorted out soon!
Image
Ordered my anti kink coils for the whole system as well as some black fan grills for the various fans from WatercoolingUK!
