I got a used Zotac RTX 3090 Trinity recently and found that the hotspot would very quickly reach 105 degrees under load causing the fans to go full throttle. It was said to be used for about a year and a half. I thought I'd do a quick repaste as a first troubleshooting step based on the info in this thread. After the heatsink was off I could see how dried and cracked the old paste was. After repasting with whatever I had on hand (Noctua NT-H1) and touching nothing else, temperatures were back down to acceptable levels.

GUYS I have a TUF 3090 with a 35c delta in GPU temp and HOT SPOT temp. Should I repaste? Its still under warranty but its such a hassle to go through with it and they might not even think its defective.

what do you think?

Same here, went with noctua paste after hotspot was climbing to over 100C, delta came down to about 20C. The used PTM7950 and delta went down to 12C.
