Adding USB type C ports to the front of a case that doesn't have them?

Hello,

I'm thinking about building a new PC and the case I'll be using is very specific to my needs but is an older case and has no USB type C in the front. The motherboard I want has a 3.2 2x2 front port connector and a bunch of 3.2 gen 1 connection options. I was wondering if anyone made a 5.25" Front plate cover or something that covered this need or any good videos of DIY mods.

I have the exact opposite problem -- I just rehoused a Kaby Lake / Z270 build in a 4000 Airflow, and I've got nowhere to plug that cable.

I have one of these on my current system and I like it but I'd love something like it with 3.2 typc C connectors -

I found this but then I'm paying for connectors I'll never use and I don't get standard hard disk connectors I use every few months.

You might be able to replace the usb headers on your case with usb-c headers. Depending on how the usb ports are attached to the case you are using.

Would this work? Not in stock at this site, but might get you headed in the right direction. Not sure if you're going to find something for a drive bay that's only going to have USB-C, but at least this one has modern USB options.

Thanks - what I'm ideally looking for is something with the most USB C ports possible and in a perfect world a swappable hard drive bay.
