I just picked up a Creative Sound Blaster E5 Amp/DAC and am beyond disappointed with it. Even with nothing plugged into it or being paired to anything the background hiss is awful. Plugging it into my phone via USB takes it to an entirely new level of suck. Then I can hear new noises that change with the CPU load.
What sold me on the device to begin with was I figured it could do double duty. I wanted to use it as a bluetooth receiver for watching TV in bed at night. During the day I wanted to get better audio out of my phone using the USB port. Are there any other devices on the market that could do both those things?
